I'm torn with buying a new truck. I have a 2010 GMC 1500 SLT extended cab. Only 27,000 miles. The one reason I want a new 2013 is to get the 6.2 engine. I'm not that fond of the 5.3. Looking for more get up and go. I would wait but the new generation has different rear doors now. The new next generation 2014 GM trucks will now have normal opening rear doors. Not good for me. I have large things I put in the rear seating area and having the suicide doors makes that happen. Will not happen with the new 2014's. The rear door only opens so far making it impossible to get larger items in the rear passenger compartment. This is why I could not buy a Toyota. By the time I heard about the new 2014's you could no longer order a new 2013. : (

I contacted a local GM dealer and they did a search but I'm thinking they are only willing to go so far in their search as they have to pick it up. They did not find anything. Is there anyway to do a 48 state search?

Has to be a new 2013 Sierra or Silverado SLT. I would prefer 2 WD but I could live with 4 WD. Has to be the 6.2 engine. Automatic. Silver is my first choice. Ebony interior. I would consider flying out somewhere and driving it home if I find the right truck and a personable price. The SLT has everything I need as standard equipment I think. Bucket seats, power seats, heated seats, folding mirrors. I do not need navigation. If I remember right when I ordered my 2010 it was just the base model SLT. I added a few dealer items, Bed rails, rear wheel liners.

    Thanks

PM me if you haven't had success yet. One of my good friends here in Dallas manages the Fleet Sales Dept for a local GMC dealer. He can do national locates and dealer trades.

cars.com worked fairly well. This is what happened: I wanted the 6.2 L engine looking for more torque for everyday driving. I test drove a new Sierra with the 6.2 engine locally. Did not have much more torque in the low RPM's than my 5.3. Drive it at 40 mph and push on the gas some (not enough to make it downshift) and it hardly accelerated more than my 5.3. If I stood on the gas I'm sure it might go sideways but I do not drive my truck like that. So I found I really had no need to upgrade to the 6.2. So I'm going to keep mine for a few more 4-5 years and when the time comes order a new GMC Sierra crew cab next time with the short box. Same overall length as my extended cab truck now. Box is 10" shorter but I'll live with that.

    Thanks
