I hope they transform the looks too, they have a lot to beat with the achingly beautiful 360CS.

I really hope they perform a nose job, the F430 front snout styled nostrils need to go!

    Hi,
now that's strange. Who told you this?

I've signed the precontract and here's what my dealer told me

    1. presentation taking place in Frankfurt
    2. 520 hp
    3. 100kg lighter
    4. coming early 2008
    5. expected price 280,000 swiss francs (230,140 $)
    6. Light Pista is only the project's code name, the real name will be different

100kg less would be great, 240 kg simply amazing!!!!

A little birdie in a small town in Italy not far from Modena....

Whatever you signed with your dealer is just that....a paper with the dealer. As the specs of the car are not official, as the price is not official and as the options have yet to be defined and priced, there are no official orders. Many dealers are taking deposits but I would guess that the deposits are not being passed on to the importer, which is the only way an order becomes official.

My understanding on the price is significantly higher than the one you mention: somewhere in the region of 185K€ exculding VAT which would equate to 330K CHF incl VAT...

but we will have to wait a little longer. We should have details in the second half of July.

My money is on "430 Scuderia" based upon the recent US Trademark filing. Maybe they'll offer the new metallic red used on the F1 cars???

UMMMM, i've been curious about this question as i've seen it on other boards also. I saw a customers F430 CS at IFS two weeks ago. So what is all this talk about it not being out? I am confused. If it is still there I will go take a picture of it and post it, since i live in the same town as IFS and have become a friend of the owner, as I am sure we all have in the Southeast area.

"Light Pista is only the code name"

While nothing has been made "official," things are farther along at this point than mearly "a paper with a dealer," (which, we agree, can mean nothing more.)

I do know that two weeks ago the dealerships recieved a new code opening internal lists for the new car that refered to it as "430 Light." The internal dealership lists now refer to the Ferrari lineup as: "599, 612, 430, and '430 Light.'"

I'm on that list, and I've also been told there will likely be a heafty price premium, possibly starting at $220K.

My current 05 430 had a starting list of 175K, delivery price of 191K. My new optioned 07, (august delivery) landed at $222K for an 07 Coupe. So this new car is going to be VERY expensive. For a extra 50K over the base priced car, an optioned car could be 230-250k.

Ferrari can rest soley on the performance gains for the price hike. But for that money, Ferrari could give it a few more cosmetic cues. It is possible the spy photos with the disguised front and rear may signal something.

    I'd love the name 430 Scuderia!! Fingers crossed . . .

I wonder if it helps to have a CS if one is looking for the new one?

Hope it doesn't turn out like what is happening with Porsche and the GT3 RS. I've heard that dealers are trading allocations so they can sell the car over MSRP and the buyer that had the cash deposit is getting ripped off.

I spoke to my dealer last week and he said he has seen the new 430 CS at the factory when he was there for a visit a few weeks ago. Don't shoot me but this is what he said:

    1. The car will have between 540 to 570 HP ;) If that were true, wow...this car is going to be super car fast. I just don't see how they can do it with the existing motor though.
    2. The car is faster around the factory test track then the Enzo :) That is possible todays tech in tires and if the new cars is around 550 HP...oh to dream....
    3. The car would be around 130 KG lighter then the 430 coupe. Approx 280 lbs lighter.

I believe the coupe is around 3300 lbs so the 430 Stradale (or what ever they call it) will be around 3000 lbs.

That is all he would tell me for now.

I will be one of the first owners of the car when it is imported into Canada. I have not been asked for a deposit and he will not take one until the car is un veiled.

I still love my Stradale, it is one of the best cars I have owned. I also have a 997tt with a stage 4 package (600 HP :), great car but it still does not give me that smile that I get in the Stradale, touch the beautiful carbon fibre, when I start the car up, drive it fast or slow, or just look at it in my garage.
