I'm just wondering: I ordered shields from Yoshi and paid for them via paypal on around 5/11-12. Never have received them, and never heard from Yoshi. I emailed him on Monday and never heard back.

Do you guys have any thoughts/suggestions?

I bought some and they suck. I would never put them on a car. There are hairs in the "enamel". I bought some "defective" ones from a guy on F-chat for $5 each, that are better.

I also had to harass Yoshi to send them to me.

Wow, that sucks. I emailed him this a.m. and told him that if I didn't hear from him within 24 hours, I'd see about getting a refund from paypal. Never had to do that before.

Am suprised, the quality of mine are absolutely the best I have seen. Has good has factory, and thinner. Maybe a different source now.

He just emailed me and said he's been out of the country, and that he will Fed Ex the shields to me tomorrow via standard overnight.

    I'll report back.

Tryed to contact him for 2 weeks with no luck when I was wanting to order a set. Gave up on him and bought the ones Daniel at Ricambi sells. Glad I did. I had seen a few pair of Yoshi shields and the ones from Daniel look better to me....

bought two sets, different times, on Yoshi shields.

    VERY quick and responsive.

got second set [year after 1st purchase] called him and emailed him [on a Saturday] about the tape on one shield that was distorted:

he called and emailed me back within the next two days, and replace the defective item overnight with no cost to me. Easy to talk to.

    recommend him...

don't understand lack of communication UNLESS he is out of country etc. **shoot...just ready he WAS out of country-good call** BTW, have a set of Baccarat THICK shields [trying to unload them] and the quality is about the same, albeit, Baccarats are highest quality, but the Yoshi's are very very close.

All I can say is, if you're going to order from Yoshi, you might put your patience pants on.

I bought the yoshi shields and was very happy with them. I had bought some from another F-chatter and was less than pleased and returned them. After almost two years of use, I recently had my car detailed, and in the process, the shields were taped off. When the tape was removed, some of the cloisenne (paint) in the black areas was removed. I sent yoshi a photo and he apologized saying that some of the earlier batches, this can happen. No problem he says, and sent me the newer 1mm style ones as free replacements! How can you go wrong with that?

Yes, he is out of the country frequently, so his response time can occaisionally be long, but he WILL come through for you. He certainly has for me.

I would have exchanged them with yoshi, anyone can have a defective product, the important thing is what they do about it.

I have examined many factory shields on cars at FCA events, and you would not believe the quality of some of them...runs, bits of one color in the wrong area, etc. Even the factory shields can be far from perfect.

Yes they have been great. Price was in line with DAS enclosed transport door to door. It is their custom critical division.

Interesting, I just emailed Yoshi to order another set of shields as a gift for a friend today, and Yoshi responded within 50 minutes. He did mention he has been traveling twice as much this year as in years past...so I suppose that might explain his tardiness in responding or shipping as promptly as in the past.

I note this FAQ on his website:

Q6 - Response time from YoMagic varies and why?

"I (Yoshi) tried to be responsive the best he can, but YoMagic is not my primary job. During the day time, you may experience some difficulties getting a hold of me, and that is because I may be out of town/country on business trip. The best way to contact him will be via email. His email address is [email protected]. I apologize for such inconveniences and will get back to you as soon as I can."

This is Yoshi, and I have not had accessed to the FCHAT for a such long time as my work schedule has been unthinkably crazy for the last 6 months or so. I have the day job and YoMagic is just something I do on my spare time. Like any other high-tech sales executive, I travel to international countries, at least, once or twice a month. I am not home half the time. Since January, I have already made seven international travels. And top of it, our web hosting company (Microsoft) has suddently announced the termination of the services, which resulted my website (www.yomagic.com) to be unoperational for the entire May and some June. I can only take orders via email ([email protected]) and a payment via PayPal. I sincerely apologize to those whom I have caused som much concerns over my delayed response and shipping. And, for those who have some problems with our shield quality, please email me so that I can make the quick assessment of the issue and send the replacement shield if deemed necessary at no cost. Our shields have gain som much popularity among the Ferrarists around the world and we have started to have some supply issue as well. I am just having a difficult time processing a big order backlog. My inventory level has gone down below minimum and I am expecting the next shipment next week. Aagin, taking this opportunity, I would like to apologize for any inconveniences caused by me. Will try to improve our customer satisfaction level as soon as possible. Appreciate your understanding and patience. Yoshi
