Recommended to this forum by a contact I had for a Vector m12. Was told that some of the members here have dealt with these models.
Needing specific info on the transmission.
If any one here does, please step up.

Check down in "general automotive" section towards the bottom of the page - there's at least one Vector owner/expert that hangs out down there.

    Hey Tony:

How many of those things did they actually deliver?

    I think I had heard 17-20 total

I think there were 11-13 M12s, but that's just hearsay. I have yet to see a breakdown by VIN or anything. The tranny in the M12 is a Getrag. That's about all I can say.

Tranny is a zf. Cannot get specifics for it as the rights to it are not owned by zf , from what we can tell. Some other engineering firm owns it or something- dont know if it 100 % true or not- its what we've been told by a zf rep.
Will post trans part # to see if any one may have a way to look that up.

Agassi broke contract on a car that wasn't finished (as he wanted it to display for his Birthday party).

Also, that was a W8, not an M12. I can answer most questions regarding the W8, and one of W8 builders is a member on the forum can answer EVERY question regarding W8's. He's not too interested in anything with the M12... chassis/ engine is Diablo sourced.

The Transmission in the W8 is a 3 speed automatic with GM Turbo 425 housing, with everything internally custom...

Yes, I have not received much love from "real" Vector owners. LOL The m12 was a sell out car to them, with good reason. The quality is very lacking on this car.

You need to read the whole story on the Aggissi incendent, it was crazy -hot rodding a car around with no radiators. LOL

They did give him his money back to save face.

Part # for the trans is 5DS-25-2 It is a zf also.
    Thank you for your responces

Have seen a silver M12 up close and personally. Didn't really care for it...always LOVED the W8 though! Someday...someday I would like to park one in my garage!

Sorry ,that was the model number on the tag riveted to the houseing. Not he housings part number.
Any ways , have found the actual original builder of the trans in So Cal. A place called R.V.T . It appears they build transmissions for Indy cars and Pantera's (amongst other things) They are the ones who have the info I have been looking for.

    Thanks for ya'lls help!

Go to the Vector chat site (do a google search). There are a few owners on there and like some members on FChat, they really know their stuff.

    Good luck.

Ha, actually I meant something already done. Would like to see the differences side by side. I'm on the fence about what one I prefer still.

I'll get some additional detailed photos of the M12 no. 5 going into next week. Trying to visit Vector W8 no. 1 next weekend, and hopefully shoot 1 and 15 side by side.

The owner of 15 is no fan of M12's at all. However if I have my way next year... it could happen at a car show... a "generations" thing perhaps.

CLM, PM this user with any W8 questions.

aggissi failed on his part by demanding the car much to early and then driving an incomplete car around his property knowing it could blow up.

That was all on him, Vector shouldn't have gave him another W8 and should have told him to bite them. :D
