Hello i have a 1995 F355B currently and i was looking for a 328 as an addition to the stable. Can someone tell me if they know this car. Its a Euro version. Are there any downsides of buying an Euro. I have never driven the 328's what should i be asking about the car is this a fair price.

Don't know the specifics on the car, but have dealt with Motorcars. Their cars are excellent. If you get serious about the care I could probably get over there next weekend - would be a great exculse to take a road trip.

I really think you need to drive a 328, before buying. The experience is much different. Smaller interior, manual steering, less power...ride is a bit less refined. Still a great driving car, but you really need to experience it, before buying. I still think the 308/328 is one of the best looking cars ever to come out of Ferrari.

    Sure looks nice.

It is a Euro. Do you live in an emissions area? Euro cars will not burn as clean as a U.S. spec car.

50k is what dealers have been pricing 328s at for over a year now. I very strongly believe they won't go below 47k, because experiences shows them they'll sell them pretty quickly. I don't the car will stick around for very long...

I presume it's 24,000mi and not 24,000km. You should confirm this, since if they just read off the odometer on a Euro car, it will be in km.

You need pics of the engine and information about service records. It probably has not had a 30k major service. When was the last time the belts were changed?

Mike and every one else thanks for taking part in helping me out. I called the dealer today. The car was an euro spec car shipped to the US with delivery miles. the spedo is in miles and the conversion was done back in 1987. they have the records from day one and the car does come with serivce records. The 30k was done about a year ago. Looks good to me. What do you guys think

If the car has no other issues and will pass emissions where you're located, I'd say go for it. In particular I like the rear lower grille on the Euro version, which doesn't stick out below the bumper like that on the U.S. version.

I would dicker down on the price for the reasons Steve mentioned, but I like the look of the Euro (bumpers, no side markers (except for the small amber one). As Steve said, check carefully on the job, and how it was done. Important to be inspected by someone who knows this stuff.

    The seats need a redye....

    I'd offer $44k.

Jim: Im from atlanta as well. The dealer told me car wont pass emmisions in california other than that it will be fine. Im waiting for them to send me more pictures of the car and the records as well. 44k is a good number considering its a Euro. If the conversion was done right and there are no issues with the car i will go for it. I like the looks of the Euro better and i dont think its being cheap to buy a euro version. Who cares about the resale. How below is it going to go from 44K ?

Just a little first hand experience...After 14 months of searching for my first Ferrari, I found it last April at Motorcars-Intl. The Rosso on black 1988.5 328 with 12K miles was just what I was looking for. I hemmed and hawed for a weekend and by the time I called on Monday, it was gone at the asking price. The salesman, Pat Searcy, was very helpful and put in a search to find me another red on black..a tough color combo I guess. Two days later he had one located with only 7K miles and he held the price at what the 12K sold for. The did a major on it before delivery. Aside from the six weeks it was in the shop, the longest wait of my life, it was shipped out looking and driving brand new. I have noticed, however, that in the last year since I made my purchase, similar 328's have shot up in price by as much as 15k!

As for their website pics, they're never the best..usually taken at the time of their intake at the dealer and pre-cleaning. The pix of my interior looked like they needed a redye, but when I got it, they were great. I could have eaten off any sureface of it when it arrived, engine, wheels..everywhere.

I put 4K "vigorous" trouble free miles on her since and can't wait until the nearly 4 feet of snow on the ground melts to get her out of storage!.

The bottom line is you need to find a dealer you can trust. I would rarely recommend a private sale unless you know the seller well. At least with a dealer, you should have some recourse if you're not satisfied. I went through many dealers during my search and I felt very comfortable with Motorcars and would recommend them based on my experience..limited as it may be.

As for the 355/328 difference..I agree, its noticeable. Less power, less comfortable, and no power steering, yes. However, having driven both, I would say that the 328 is more primal..I denfinitely feel more a part of the car than in a 355 as you feel much more of the road when driving. They're both great, just different experiences and if you're like me, that's what it's all about. I myself am beginning my search for my next Ferrari, (I'm definitely keeping the 328),and am torn between the 355 and the 550, two of the remaining three most beautiful models in my opinion. They are both outstanding for different reasons, I'm just sad I can't afford both! As for the euro vs. US version, I can't comment, although I agree that if resale is an issue, the less chopping, the better.

Anyway, good luck in your search and enjoy!
