Anyone in the UK have the Morimoto lights on their 360 / 430?
I would be interested in this too as have replaced a couple a year ago or so and already I can see deterioration of them already!
Highly highly recommend Morimotos on 430…they look sick!!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Easy install (I'm not a car guy and i did it) But HUGE mistake was installing Scud inc third break light…it threw F1 error and they sold me a module that eventually fixed it. Kinda a scam in my opinion. They should have warning on their site warning of F1 error. CKN
It is the Morimoto lights that cause the problem with the F1 error. On my car with the original tail lights and Scud Inc Swiss third brake light everything worked fine. With the Morimoto lights installed, after re-wired the European harness, the F1 warning showed up. The Scud Inc Swiss module solved this problem. Just when I thought everything worked well another problem showed up. When pressing the fog light button all 4 brake lights are activated. For this reason the car does not pass the yearly inspection { called APK in the Netherlands } Still have to figure out how to solve this problem.
Just installed these and they look great, but I can't help to think they are almost a bit too bright at night. Anyone else feel the same way? The reverse light lights up the entire driveway, and the turn signals are a bit distracting..
Those Morimito lights, not only do they have problems but at night they must hurt other peoples eyes, they look way to bright? They even light the road up!
pictures wont really show how bright they are.... if you drive the car mostly during the day I think for the price you can't beat how they look.. but at night they will blind the crap out of anyone behind you.. They also work fine, I guess apart from EU guys, they were plug and play.. Took me maybe 15-20 minutes to install. If you have a scuding 3rd brake light you will get the F1 gear failure, just need an extra harness to fix that and you're good to go
I have a scuding third brake light on mine and have never had an F1 issue pop up with either the stock lights, the PB engineering, or the Morimotos.
That's interesting. So far most of the F1 gearbox faults I've seen were a combo of the morimoto lights and the 3rd brake light. Mine popped up right away. Did not have the issue with stock lights
Mine came today and the install was super easy. They look much better than I thought! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have them on my 360. They’ve never caused an issue on my car. Most of the complaints I’ve read about pertain to the 430, not the 360, so I can’t attest. On my car, they look amazing and haven’t missed a beat!
Good luck. I love them on my 360 and haven’t had a single issue. Only issues I’ve heard have been 430’s
Ah, perhaps. I’ve never committed the 430’s issues to memory as it didn’t pertain to me. But hopefully it’s all good!
Only for some people apparently. I have the Scud Ing Swiss third brake light and run these with no issues at all. Makes me think it’s not related.
I may have jinxed myself?! Just took the car our for an hour or so. I turned onto a street mid drive, so I had the turn signal on, and got the F1/"hood up" red light for a split second along with a beep. It only happened the once and the car ran great, but we'll what the future holds. I may end with the Scud Ing relay at some point after all?
Installed then turned them on with no errors so far. Hit the left and right signal and brakes. Guess I'm good. They looks spectacular. The OEM quality is really cheap compared to these. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I went for another long drive yesterday and alll was good. totally agree they make the oem feel cheap. Great build quality and I like the 4 mounts vs 3.
Hi folks, I am considering purchasing those lights as well for my Scud. Is there any way to adjust the brightness? they do seem a bit obnoxious. I would expect to get into trouble in Europe with those.
