Robert, glad you got it. I was afraid customs would get into it and screw it up somehow.

We now ship these in wood boxes. That way we can screw everything down good and tight, and there is much less opportunity for damage.

Another thing we did was change shippers from UPS to Fed Ex Ground. We found UPS to be extremely hard on packages, and difficult (almost impossible) to work with on a damage claim. Plus they typically take longer.

I really liked how the glossy turned out, so much so that I thought about re-spraying my own (for the ump-teenth time!).

I will be anxious to see that glossy on your car!

    Best wishes to you.

Thanks. Many members of this board were instrumental along the way. Daniel and Steve were really gracious guinua pigs on the first few versions and came up with some great ideas to help me out. They could have been jerks, like my supposed NJ car buyer.

I'll never forget the phone conversations me and Daniel were exchanging over Christmas and New Years - they are funny now but back then they were a little...uh...embarrassing. So the real thanks goes to Dan and Steve.

There's some really super guys on this forum.

If I am a jerk and a supposed buyer, why would you send me a link to another fellow members' car (red 348 in Kansas, and another in Fla.)? Kind of contradictory, is'nt it? I'm still waiting for the mods to clear my post explaining this situation. To the moderators; if I've violated some rule in my pending post, please contact me so I can edit and re-post. Thank you.

Man... no biggie!! It was a fun project, and in the end, it all worked out. Now, hopefully Night Life will get his installed and we'll have another LeMans 348 on the road.

I had a deal to purchase his car at <removed by admin> with the factory grill in place, no LeMans included. Deposit of $1k to be paid after getting a ppi done(which,of course, had to come out pos.),balance to be paid within seven buiss. days of final satisfactory ppi report. I paid for the ppi, done at a mechanic of his choice after he refused to take it to one of my choosing. The ppi was to be to be finished in three days-one for the mechanical-three days for test results on an engine oil analysis to come back. When the initial mechanical inspection came back good, I called with the following offer; $500 immediatly by paypal to secure the car and assure him I was, in fact, a serious buyer, second $500 to be paid (in funds of his choice)at the confirmation of a pos. oil analysis test, finalizing the ppi. I asked that the 1st $500 was to be refunded if the oil test came out bad, but if ok, the deal would continue as previously agreed upon. He refused this offer and stated he no longer wanted any deposit, only to be paid in full. He then said that it was too inconvienient for him to replace the factory rear grill and now wanted to accept my offer he had previously rejected of <removed by admin> w/ both grills. I accepted and said I would fax him a bill of sale agreement in the morning (4/1). I faxed him the signed b.o.s. friday morning. It stated, under Terms of Sale, per his request, "Vehicle is to be purchased AS IS".He called to say he is still not going to sign it as he is uncomfortable with it saying "The Seller represents to the Buyer that the Vehicle is in good condition" Says he has only owned it 2 1/2 years and can only vouch for that. I said fine, that's what the ppi was done for. He says no, I should'nt buy this car from him, that I'll find something wrong with it to complain about (I must mention, I twice requested pics of the engine compartment and front trunk and was never provided with them). He went on to say that I should buy a car local to me that I can inspect in person (which led to my previous out of context post about him sending me a link to Justins' car in Kansas, contradicting himself).I told him I would talk to the ppi mechanic again, think it over and call him back. This was at 11:00am. At 2:00pm I get an email from him saying he wants a $1k deposit, <removed by admin> balance paid in 3 days and he has another buyer lined up in Houston, would I sell that buyer my ppi to hurry the deal along and save him having to take the car for another ppi. I emailed him later saying to go ahead w/ the Houston buyer as I am now no longer interested - Does this make me a jerk? Should he care to refute any of this I can post our email correspondence and the stated bill of sale.
I would like to apoligize to all forum members for introducing myself to you all this way, and thank you for the information I've gleaned lurking here the past year. This has been very dissapointing first venture into trying to attain what Enzo has described as "a dream".

It is unfortunate that you would choose to come on to Ferrari Chat and slander me on only your second post, as well as make a variety of blatantly untrue statements about our discussions, and hijack a thread in the process, but then again I am not surprised. The very fact that you would reveal confidential matters such as the terms of the sale (thank you Mods for appropriately deleting) speaks volumes.

I have been a part of this forum for a number of years, have done business with many members, and I will let my reputation stand on its own.

Assuming this is true, its good you walked from the deal. I would have too, even in a sellers market which clearly we are not in.
And I'm quite sure there aren't multiple buyers for any car these days.

Looks like someone got caught with their pants down (so to speak)

    Best,

Looks great! - I'm saving my Canadian dollars for one - damn - timing was terrible for me - FX just recently made it 25% more expensive for us igloo dwellers up here. Where are you in Canada - would love to see it in person when its done if you are in Ontario.
