I would get them if you ever plan on selling the car. You can cover them with some film of your color and will almost not see them.
Well since the shields are not just glued onto the bodywork but actually stamped in, I doubt it would be possible to remove them and achieve a pristine looking panel afterwards. The alternative, if you're really desperate, would be to replace the entire panel to a non-shield one. But keep them if they are already there. If not, hunt for a car without them. 99.9% of cars without original shields will receive them in the form of the blass Ferrari stickers or some ebay knockoff.
I don't like them either. When I ordered my '15 spider, the first thing I told the salesman was "No shields". Mike
If your car already has them, you need to replace (or I guess Bondo) the fenders, as there is an indent. I'm working the other way on a car right now.
Thanks to NASCAR we can get duct tape in various colors...not just silver any more. Cover those shields up. problem solved.
I agree to really resolve your issue you will need new fenders ($$$) or its actually probably best (this will sound absurd but when you look into the numbers you'll see its probably a little less than option 1) just replace the whole car, especially if you have an Italia and if its a common color.
how about you really have a Fcar, No one is going to buy a car, then hate the shields, and want to take them off. So many want to be's, coming up with something no one would want to do..
Is that car that sepcial in the config, that you buy it with the hated shields? Perhaps selling the car and buying another one is easier than removing te shields.
I don't mnd them when the came with the car originally. It's the stupid stuck on shields and stickers that bother me. It's become a fashion trend.
Sheilds. Ugh. My condolences There are two Ferrari logos on the front, one on the back, 4 on the wheels, 1 on the steering wheel, and possibly to on the seats. Why people need another two Ferrari logos on their car is beyond me...
I personally think a car looks much better without the shields, but as many people on here have said they will not buy a car that doesn't have them. I can only think of one 458 for sale now that is free of shields, it's blue I think at Naples motor sports. When the time comes to order an Fcar, I don't know how I'm going to go. I know it's my car and I need to buy it for myself, but resale does mean something, as I trade often.
I don't think there is any evidence to back this up come resale. People say it, but in reality, they'd buy anything as long as the price was right. If their perfect car comes out without shields at the price they want, they'll buy it. No one passes up a great car for some dumb logos.
Two methods: Method 1: find someone with good aluminum bodywork skills, and have the sections cut out and replaced. Finish with new paint. Method 2: Sell car. Buy replacement without shields.
Maybe replace them with the carbon shields that were available on the 430s. It will tone down the brightness of the yellow ones. Otherwise. you really will devalue your car to remove them, do body work, and then repaint the fenders.
Rip em off Send em to me I'll stick en my fridge! My fridge will look great Your fenders will look NOT great!
I agree with you in the fact you will take a hit on price if you don't have the shields, dealers will offer less, and if selling private you will have to list it for less.
I don't understand. Why would a guy buy a car with shields if he hates them? This doesn't make any sense.
