There's a friend of mine here in town that has had his 1981 308 since it was brand new purchased from Ferrari of Atlanta. He's the only "original owner" of a 308 I know of. I'm the 2nd owner of record of my 1984 QV.
Second owner of 1986 328GTS. First owner had it for 17 years (and just 12.000 miles...). Last week he called me asking if I wanted to sell back: no thanks!! Ciao Eugenio
I ordered my 1981 308 GTSi in June of 1980, took delivery in February of 1981. I plan on taking it into the next life with me. I love this car!
#34639 Special order paint, Russo Barchetta, cost me an arm and leg at the time! The car is absolutely flawless, never been in the rain, no road rash, a constant trophy winner.
I knew an original owner of a 328 when I lived in San Diego. You dont hear of many original owners of older Ferrari's. I wonder why.
It is the nicest looking 308 I have seen in a long time and the longest term of ownership. Mine? I am the third owner.
Congratulations -- that is truly remarkable! The usual story is for a Ferrari to have 3 owners in less than a year with not quite a thousand miles on it. Kind of reminds one of sailboat ownership and the Two Happiest Days...
Third owner here. The first owner had the car for about 3 years, spent a year or so at a dealership searching for a new owner, then 12 years with its second owner. Going on two years since I bought it. TWS
I'm the 3rd owner of my 308. First owner had it 20 years, second owner had it two and I'm into my 3rd year.
I have a Friend who has a 86 328 GTS that he bought new at FoS. He also bought a 355 Spider through FoS, which he traded when his 360 Modena arrived, also through FoS. He says he will not part with his 328 GTS.
I believe that was the original color of my car (still has the metallic maroon swatch in the engine compartment) but the original owner had it repainted by the dealer in standard Ferrari red.
Bought mine in 1986. I drove it as my only car for a year (12K) and since that time have put around another 28K on the car. Red/Tan. The only unusual thing about my car is that it has red carpets. I have no idea how many cars had red.
I have had my '86 328GTS since new. Very early production, #60563, It is the only one I have ever seen with factory "Boxer" trim Red over black, black interior. It is coming up on 30K miles. I must say the car has aged better than me in 19 years!!
I am the second owner of an '85' Euro 308 GTS QV. The first owner had it for the first 17 years. I hope to own it for at least that long.
I am the proud second owner of a very original green 1982 308 GTSi. I have owned the car for twelve years. When I bought the car in 1993 it only had seven-thousand miles on it. I have added twenty-four thousand miles to the odometer. The first owner passed on to me all of the original tools, books, keys, window sticker and radio. I have since acquired the luggage, sales brochure, press kit, shop & parts manuals, and leather, carpet & paint samples. This 308 even has the smog equipment and air pump attached. So, I guess Im the second owner of a very original 308!
Branko, whats the last numbers of your VIN? I'll check mine when I get home. I'm curious if the numbers are close.
Joel, since it was a brand new model over the 308, I assume you had to order it well ahead of time? Were you on the list for a 308... and offered an option on an early 328? Or did you want the 328 from the start? Just curious what the waiting lists were like back when the 328 was introduced??? BobD
