I was out as well on Sunday, but (somehow) forgot to check in here before I left...... In any event, I hope that next Saturday at Jimmie's (meeting at the Jacob's parking lot) will work out for some of us. Right now, it looks like I'll be out of town on May 12th (the day of the poker run), but Compensating, one of these days our schedules will match up.

I can't believe I missed out. I thought I had subscribed to this thread. Thought it had been kind of quiet lately, suppose I should check more often.

Dougnshari, pm me, I have a question for you.

 

As discussed in the posts above, our first "Wichita-Area Group" meeting was going to be the benefit poker run on April 14th, but that event got "snowed out" and was postponed until May 12th.

I won't be able to make it on the 12th, but I thought I'd bump this thread, and remind everyone of the date, in case we're going to try to get a group together. Registration starts at 8:00 AM at Central Christian Church. For details see the link, below.

Is there a preference among the group to keep this big "Wichita Owners" thread going, or should we start up new event-based threads as needed? This thread continues to get lots of views, so perhaps it's handy to keep it going, and keep Wichita-area things in one place for a while longer. But, it can be difficult at quick glance (when looking at the Index Page) to see if anything new of substance (new events, etc.) has been posted. Any preferences?

 

I am tied up on Saturday late afternoon and evening, but open the rest of this weekend. (NSXER, I saw your PM in viperclub.org that Friday night might not work for you.)

Does anyone have any specific thoughts? The weather looks like it will be dry. Jimmies on Saturday AM? Backyard Burger on Friday night? A Saturday drive anytime (ending by 5:00)? A Sunday afternoon drive?

As Compensating noted above, I won't be able to make it this Saturday (out-of-town wedding), but hopefully the rest of you guys can get a group together.

On another note, the Friday evening Backyard Burgers show (West 21st Street; every Friday from 6:00 to 9:30 or so) is getting some good turnouts this year. I took the Viper out last Friday (I've been to three of these events so far this year), and there was a nice cross-section of 50 or so cars. There were no Italians or other Vipers this time, although I understand there was a Lambo a couple of weeks ago [likely a Gallardo, although my contact wasn't completely sure....].
