Any phone system techs? Will this work?

    WHen you dial a number that has been disconnected, the PBX kicks this recording back at you: Disconect Sample WAV

    What I want to ask, is if those three tones cause automated telemarketing systems to mark that number as disconnected. If I put those three tones as the first thing that is played on my answering machine, will a majority of systems out there auto hang up?

    Good info...

    So now it becomes more sophisticated. It's time to write a program that auto-disconnects ALL numbers, except those in your 'personal address book', like an Email spam filter. LOL, sometimes I think it's worth it to just step off the "grid".
