i'm trying to locate a 1988 930 slantnose my father owned and sold via Pano in the 1990-92 era. i think the car was linen, gold, amethyst. would have been a denver or MI address. sold to a guy in atlanta. otherwise dont know squat any ideas ? i'm now in atlanta
i'm trying to track down the slantnose... potentially buy it back if it becomes available... unfortunately have no records of the VIN. it was listed for sale in pano during that time frame. so if i can find the advert - should have the vin and a description of the car. pretty sure it was an 88 as it was a 4spd. dad bought it in denver,co. so it either listed our denver or MI address. believe the actual color was linen bought looked like a sorta metallic gold. was sold ironically to a guy in atlanta where i am now. H
I think there's a 930 registry out there somewhere...may be a slant nose somewhere too? I'm on my iPhone, I'll google a bit when I get home.
couldn't find the registry. however, per Rennlist there were 278 1988 slantnose 930s built. given the rare color combo, and that you know where the car was originally delivered, maybe contact PCNA and see if they can help?
i've seen threads on people working on a directory but havent found one..... the pano add should have all the info. i could track the car down via the VIN...
no, the VIN will be listed in the pano classified as they used to be required. not sure if thats still the case. agreed once i have the vin - super easy to track the car down.

tracked the car down to higgins porsche for service.....they think it was repainted black.... which is funny cause i recall it being a $15k paint to sample mercedes color....
update : a guy here in atlanta worked for a porsche service shop in birmingham but grew up in jackson, ms. he was able to get me a name of a local attorney who turns out to be the guy that purchased the car from my dad. unfortunately, he sold the car 10 years ago to a guy named jimmy rogers who worked at higgenbin (sp?) porsche / mercedes.... mr rogers passed away 8 years ago. his estate liquidated everything. according to carfax, the car is still local as service records show at the dealer. i called service and left my info but they cannot disclose who the owner is.
