Being the only American in the field, I really like the guy, but I don't know much about him except for when he was on Inside Grand Prix, and since he is a backmarker driver, there is hardly anything written about him. I'm a little worried he could lose his job, since I have read in articles that Sebastien Vettel is getting tight with STR, and Sebastien Bourdais is obviously getting a shot. Anybody got anything?

Boy, I wish I could make the article show up...? I'm a big fan because he's (1) American and (2) a shifter kart legend! Last year I didn't think to bring it when they actually had an autograph session, then this year I brought an issue of Shifter Kart Illustrated from 2001 with him on the cover, but, alas, no Scott Speed autograph session, no merchandise, etc. :( I'm disappointed to see how tenuous his job is these days. I'm generally the type to watch racing for the racing, not to root for anyone, so it's rare that i get excited by a driver but it has been frustrating....

Note: It says he failed to win either championship in star mazda and skip barber series. Just to let you know, he didn't do a full season in either of them. I know for a fact he only did like four races in Star Mazda, getting two podiums and one win. The reason he did not do a full season was because he was chosen for the Red Bull program and was immediately sent to Europe.

On the Indy Motor Speedway's site www.brickyard.com the always give Scott some post race interview print. They run the top 3, and SS.
Also ScottSpeed.com has some bio stuff and the race weekend analysis that does not get printed elsewere.

I'm like you, my "rooting" this season is for STR, specifically Scott to earn a point! I know, lofty goals an all, but the quick shift trans gave us hope for a few days anyhow.

I've found a few here and there in some local papers. The one that I thought would have had jumped on it first was the Manteca Bulletin. Last year I offered to interview Scott last year because I was going to the race if they would get me the Press Pass. That was shot down in half a second. They didn't even know who he was. HOW SAD for a paper from his home town. BUT! Finally this year, they actually did a front page article. It only took the paper 2 years to get their head out of their @$$.

Something I've done is customized my page on news.google.com with a search for Scott Speed. It gives you as many articles as you ask for, and somewhat tries to sort out the duplicates. I've got it set to show me 5 stories and they're all from the last week, all race summaries pretty much about the crash with Wurz.

you know whats really frustrating is trying to buy STR stuff. Went to the Montreal race and could buy hats, shirts, etc from EVERY team except the Red Bull/STR teams. Heck, even Spyker stuff was available, albeit very limited, but there.

Any idea where you can buy STR things?

All of us American F1 fans would like to have the opportunity to support our only driver....
