Ha Ha yes that's D one - I think its nicer than a mondial to be honest and is very classy if it were in another colour like the new QP light olive / green (or is that BM's colour) tone colour. I note that SF does not agree however 4 seat Ferraris ? If either prices or salaries were better, a red 456 or 612 ... I saw a mondial cabriolet some time back - it was red / Tan and an ang moh was driving it - it had a TV in it (you know from the stereo) Was eye catching and many passing by seemed impressed however I saw a white Testa in Japan recently. Did not know why they like white so much until now. Have to say it was very very cool, the white really brought out the side fins.
Maybe it'll take a while to grow on you but the 412 reminds me of the 80's Mitsubishi Lancer. The huge V12 engine up front looks like a plumber's nightmare as well. Bet it'll look slicker in glossy black with the chromed frames, more like an old cadillac. I took a spin it it before & was more like a boat....
I'm with the Mondi....You can swap the 17" 348 rims onto it when you fit them 19" to the soon to be Rosso Scuderia 348, sans wing!!!
Bro bro, you know what I'm thinking ya? My 19" is here but waiting for customs clearance. Maybe a black Mondi with the red interior is not bad huh. 8)
Jon, Since you're on a 'modernization' spree, why not spray the Mondi in Grigio Silverstone or Titanio. It'll complement the red interior nicely. Lower the car by 20mm to 'merge' with the ex-348 17".... Then you'll have TWO Ferraris in current colours.....(presuming you 'Scud' the 348..) Just my SGD$0.02
Hey you set my fire burning man....the Titanio with red will look like a F430 This is going to be bad for my bank, must take one step a time if not got to sell my house! I still have a 911 becoming a 993GT2 which I just found a set of correct rims. BTW, just fitted my new 19" BBS style 3pc. Very *bling* & the car looks more modern now but steering is heavier, esp moving off. Looks like it has to stay off Sepang unless I swap rims back.
Whole net is abuzzz with this today... Several online BMW discussion forums were abuzz today with the story of a police chase involving a BMW E90 3-Series. Its not every day you see a brand new Bimmer in a chase with law enforcement, nor do you often see one get wrecked. But thats what happened in this chase, which covered many of the major highways in Houston, Texas. For hours, the BMW out-maneuvered and overpowered the police cars. The chase ended when the E90 driver went the wrong way on a one-way on-ramp and slammed into a car. A woman who was in the Chrysler sedan that got hit jumped out to pounded on the E90 drivers window, obviously more than a little ticked that this maniac had just crashed into the car that was carrying her baby. Both the woman and her child were taken to hospital for observation, while the person driving the Chrysler was taken away on a stretcher. The driver of the Bimmer surrendered, apparently having suffered no major injuries. A new, longer video from CNN can be seen after the jump You can watch a feed of the video at http://www.asiaforums.com.sg/forumdisplay.php?f=185
Jon, funny that...The thinner and correspondingly stiffer sidewalls of the tyres, coupled with fresh treads should render the steering lighter if not the same as before. Less 'squirm' effect. What size are you using for the fronts especially, tyre pressures and width of the 19" wheel F & R setup ? Whatever, a BBS or any lattice/cross-spokes looks the biz on a 348. Cargraphics perchance ? ( I have a fetish for Xspokes even though they're a b***h to clean !)
Jon, the silver one is for sale. Mondials are great cars: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Clive, your Z's gonna look great man....Love the front end treatment...and the rear too, a helluva sexier..!
Here's some pictures I took last night. Couldn't help using a cloth to polish them up a little. A little too shiny in my opinion but they do look expensive don't they. I have 235.35.19 up front & 295.30.19 on rears. Clive, it would hurt if I ever kerb these rims or hit the gravel! Don't think I have the heart to do what you're doing to the Mondial, that's deconstructivism & of course reconstruction but then, maybe I can try that on the 911 Shall pay you a visit on what to do for interior. Now my Tarox discs look a little lost in the space & I would love to powder coat the calipers to red or yellow? Do you guys know if it's easy to do this here? My orig 17" on 225? feels a lot lighter & quite effortless to steer even @ low speeds, I could even do parallel parking! I just hope the new 19" won't cause more wear on the bearings. Maybe I should sell this set & get the 18" BBS 360 Challenge rims that's made of magnesium which I found a set for US$3500. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The G88 discs are okay. But ..... you really should'a got these :- Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
ITS a 246 GT, now red with daytona seats red and black combi. Under paint restoration and interior work now. Will be ready in 6 more months.
Jon......absolutely gorgeous...! BTW, the 360 Challenge Magnesiums are great for the track but don't even think about kerbing them..magnesium's strong and light but they're brittle...I think the ones you have on now is a keeper and no..it ain't Bling!!
Thank you guys, they are really high polished forged rims & I swear they reflect like a mirror as they spin. Frankly, I really think they're too *bling* & big, probably look better in a 360. Let me get it under the sun with some nice scenery for you guys again. Last night, I spent 2hrs fixing a few stuffs. New engine cover strut: tough to reach that lower nut & got burnt by the hot engine, I could only fix one side as I didn't have the correct spanner but the cover finally stays up! New chromed rear horse (sprayed lacquer to prevent rust) & got to remove the entire rear grille to do this. Then, fixed new alum gauge rings. All parts ordered from a sponsor here, "Ricambi" & he gave me a free T-shirt. I'll fix the new C.fibre sills when I do a new paint job as that'll require tearing up the old metal piece which can be tricky. All enamel shields will go in later as well. Actually been planning all these 2yrs ago. Now, I'm thinking of getting light weight bucket seats! I'll most likely change the carpets to red with tan leather & have the centre plastic console(old plastic all crappy) painted in red? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Very nice rims Jon! The shine is fine. But agree that the size may be a bit on the big side. Really modernises the car. The red centre console looks great, but think it would need to be laminate or something like that to avoid too much scratching?
