Gentlemen, an interesting read, about life inside the ferrari factory. http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/ly/insideferrari.htm
BEEN WONDERING FOR SO LONG ON HOW FERRARI,PORSCHE,LAMBORGIHNI,MASERATI,PAGANI,LOTUS AND ASTON MARTIN SHIPED IN INTO SINGAPORE...?????????????????????????? 1)SEA FREIGHT--CAR CARRIER/RO RO 2)AIR FREIGHT THANKS
Can anyone tell me anything about the 308 GTB that has just come up for sale on AutoInc? PM if so as I would like to view.
Must be sea, crazy to go by air. Once on my way to HS on the AYE, I saw a truckload of brand new 360CS, Maseratis etc but couldn't hold a camera & shoot it with one hand. Wonderful sight it was.
Looks like an interesting piece with painted bumpers (supposed to be black) but not sure about the price & it's got only 2+ years left. You're going to be very cash rich to buy this cos I doubt any finance company's bothered much about the body value or you can PM me, my guy gave me quite good values but slightly higher interest. You should've bought my 348 http://www.autoincsports.com/ferrarimaserati/Ferrari308GTBQV/360MYLW.htm
Sea Freight. Air freight prohibitively expensive and cars are considered combustible material....Unless you own your own private KC-10 or Hercules 130...nope.
That was for the private launch & the only prototype travelling around the world. Thus, possibly airfreight to meet schedules. I can't confirm this but no big deal to me as long as the car I order will arrive on time, wouldn't bother how they send. I remembered FedEx did a special shipping on a big & heavy project before but I can't recall the "parcel".
You can have your car airfrieght in, but in Singapore, I guess its a disadvantage as your "shipping" is added to the omv value. For Ferraris in the US, air frieght is an option, I recall someone saying it was 7,000...peanuts compared to what you are already shelling out for an automobile of the finest heritage...
Fong, did you see the link to a wrecked F40 project car? Go over to the freak under Fcars. Here's an example of a turboed 308 engine http://www.norwoodperformance.com/images/engine7.jpg http://www.norwoodperformance.com/images/twinturbo3.jpg What a fine piece of art! http://www.norwoodperformance.com/images/v12Carb.jpg
My sales at HongSeh mentioned that most if not all their Ferraris are Air Freight into Singapore. I suppose most owners are eager to receive their cars at the earliest opportunity after waiting >6 months and do not mind the little extra cost. I know because mine's going to be airfreight.
Really? That's nice, did you pay extra for express service or it's included in the price? Must be a painful wait & I can feel the eagerness waiting for the baby I think I have just gone to the moon & back within the last few days.....akan datang
So if you guys say seafreight....is it in a Container..or.....Car carrier, because i see all toyotas, hondas and mazdas coming in singapore by car carrier....!!!???
why do u say its a disadvantage? I thot higher OMV is good? Coz the sale price of the car is a negotiated sum inclusive of shipping.
Well Lung, I think he meant general cars as those dealers will most definitely NOT absorb airfreight fees & with the higher OMV, they'll sell you a higher price. I don't know about you guys who buy brand new exotics, whether the extra thousands bothers you but I'm quite sure people in the streets who buy normal cars for their daily commute, every dollar counts. I mean look @ those Toyotas & Hyundais, their prices are like yo-yo which is affected by the fortnightly COE & exchange rates. While the exotic dealers have more or less held their stand in the past couple of years even when LTA lowered ARF significantly.
For sure the Japanese cars are not air freighted in. But for exotics, I don't think buyers actually specifically ask for cars to be air freight. Its part of the "service" of getting a car in asap. There is so much margin in the selling price that getting the car in by air makes no difference to sellers. It makes the buyer happy for two reasons.. higher omv and earlier delivery.
Saw a HK magazine that their Murci is by shipping. Maybe Spore is by Air. But it's really nice to see how the Murcie roadster arrived, from the container to figuring out how to remove the soft top from the manual book, test drive and lastly top up the petrol and return to the dealer. Really cool! Maybe I should scan it and show it to you guys! Ermm..wait...let me find the magazine first hehe...
