For the first time, Aston Martin is leading the car sales, followed by Lamborghini then Ferrari. http://www.lta.gov.sg/corp_info/doc/M03-Car%20Regn%20by%20make.pdf?
Unfortunately not, I was on an overseas assigment. I heard they had a great event at Westin Pregos and a couple of Maserati GTs were sold that evening. I was told the GTs look fabulous with all the extra CF options and sports exhaust. Wish I was there.
Jon, Washing /waxing/polishing/thinking of putting your 19"/washing/waxing/doing up the leather/doing up the dashboard/washing/waxing......your new baby ? What did the wife say? How does the car feel? How do you feel now ? Piccies? I'm walking now....hehe!
Hi Isk, yes she's mine now. Was in a seminar today & slipped out during lunch, went bank, pay $ & collected then back & it rained It's a very impressive automobile & I'm very very pleased. The tail oh yes, the proportions are just right, you'd want to run your fingers over every inch of the body as if she's J'Lo. Still has the '80s leather smell & actually the interior is so good I might just keep it as it is for the moment. The body had 5-figure bare metal respray & still mint condition except a few tiny stone chips. It's a real joy to drive, gear changes smoothly, pretty light, cold aircon, not a very fast car but the torque keeps coming smoothly like tall Hawaiian waves & I'm one gear down from my 348 on the same road, same speed. Bad blind spots keep you within your lane when in city driving but it's a blast on highway....I love the way it starts with the swirl & booom & it starts everytime without protest hot or cold. The polished quad tips are grilled to a nice blue tint. Finally, the side mirrors don't block your view like the accident-prone 348. This is a grand cruiser, not something you'd want to stab hard & push around corners, not as nimble as the 348. The 355 wheels were new & actually compliments, might keep it as my 19" might make it heavier. Oh, IT HAS a spare wheel up front!!! My throat was dry as my heart beat faster & my body feels the heat. It has outrageous presence, everywhere I slowed or stopped, people will turn their heads & I saw a few dropped jaws. I think my neighbours might thought I fed the car with something, it grew a little, as it's longer & wider now esp when the no. plates are almost similar. Eh the trouble is nobody in my family knew about it, I didn't even whisper to my dog & my wife might not let me live past Vesak if she sees it Gosh, I dumped one on Monday & by Thursday I have another. Lady luck is smiling on me @ last!!
SFChallenge, What number plate? Am looking at the AutoInc 308 on Saturday - you probably know it - plate 1999 Ferrari season. FF
hi guys i have nor seen this thread in a while but was wondering on any input on restoration work at hs motors. i am sending in my 308 qv in 2 weeks
Some pictures but half of them got corrupted Got to shoot again when the chance comes by. Glad some boys came over but a few couldn't sorry, last minute Lung & Harold wanted to join so I called for a "snap-meet". http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=135789847&postcount=25 Oh yes, forgot to mention that I survived the night because I told my wife the TR's rented from friend for S$2K/month. Hehehee
Hi Jay, welcome to the club again. Is yours with the newer SD**** plate? What kind of restoration do you mean, from a simple belt change or complete strip down, polish, sandblast, new parts, mods? It's a money pit & unless you really want to keep it for more than 3yrs, please do a standard job. Otherwise budget S$10-15K(non-HS) for a beautiful stock engine with all the new hoses. This is engine alone, no gearbox/clutch, body etc & provided the CIS working well. I once went to a painter & the first question he *pop* was "are you keeping the car?" if not just do a one coat job to keep it simple & cheap. Took me quite a while to rationalise. If you're going the full blown way, I have a few links to people who can help you build a beast. 308s are like 911s to me with a lot of possibilities.
Oh my goodness Jon - a Testarossa! Very very nice! Should've told my kids I had an urgent meeting just now. Enjoy the car.
Yes, enjoying every minute of the drive for now. Who knows in a few month's time, itchy like you I find my 348 handles better, TR has a lot of understeer (or is it over?) when you do corners. Perhaps I need more time with it & I need to do alignment, service brake, change pads, balance all wheels, fix some blown bulbs. Some regular stuffs & we'll see. As of today, I still find Absolut's 355 exhaust the best F1 experience. Simply wonderfully high pitch. Smoke-bomb award goes to Harold's while Wilson has the best home-theatre effect & my the interior makes you want to cuddle up in there. Harold, I kind of like your black wheels when they spin as the yellow logo & chrome nuts really stand out from far. Yes, R01. Most surprising, I still quite can't believe what I did.
Yeah, Abang Lung....Bulan June ke? Jon, Great looking car and the 355 wheels are fabulous on it. Enjoy her in good health and when you decide to come for 'exercises' in MY, give me a tink. Make it sometime in June/July. I'll be around and we'll go for a drive to Kuala Klawang, I will not even try to overtake so that I can enjoy your turbine wail over 30km of sinous clean roads with foliages as walls. Nice 'rustic' kedai kopi at the end of it....
hi again and thanks for the input....i will be bringing the car into hs motors for body work, ie...taking out rust and repaint....i think, with my limited resources in singapore that the ferrari dealer would do the best job. i guess my car will be in the shop for 3 months or so...do you guys know if any 246 dinos exist in singapore? mine is an ey....... plate.
Alright, after smelling all the exhaust. Let's have some sea water & wonder if anybody would consider this. Ultimo? http://www.wally.com/jumpch.asp?idChannel=44&idUser=0&attivo=2-4 Remember this boat? It was featured in the movie "The Island" where the lead actor was supposed to be the designer. The ship is actually tested in Maranello's Ferrari wind tunnel from what I read in US edition GQ. I've been searching for this boat for a while....cool US$26million. Needs a billionaire to afford & maintain this I think. It looks mean doesn't it? Oh man 16800hp twin jet turbines....
Its not a bad concept. Lighten construction etc. I was at viewing at Antigua when it came out 2 years back. Its fast for something that size, but limited range especially when you are at full throttle, thats why very few yacht builders use that kind of engines. Turbine marines use it for their speed boats, adapted over from ex huey chopper engines http://www.turbinemarine.com/home.html You can watch the videos at the link, the owner is a real friendly chap so if you are keen pop over and they would give you the ride of your life. And no seatbelts too. Wally is quoted at 15million Pounds As is. but you have to factor in running costs of 20% of the purchase price per year. Yachts like these are not like speedboats where you can just cover it with a tarp off-season. it needs a full crew, just like private jets. its a full time thingy. Plus when you feel up these babies its going to cost alot of moolahs. Take a cigarette speedboat for example. Four outboard engines, one ride. $1000 US in fuel. The Wally is going to cost about the region of 30K to fuel.
Had a real great time meeting up with some of the guys from here this morning. Hilarious bunch of dudes who are really passionate about their cars. Great stuff. The ring of the tubi's is still going on in my head.. I can't post pics in here so I've put em up over at; http://www.carfreaks.com.sg/phpnuke/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=1215
Hey guys, i need to get the breaks changed on my M4200. Do any of you have somewhere you can recommend here in Sgp besides HS?
