got my COE this wk at a whopping 77K, special thanks to the minister of transport. I got a lousy feeling it's going to get even worst next yr.
Till Aug next year. We'll need the IC# to check the scrap value on paper to be accurate but whoever buys it & renews COE @ let's say $70K then you have an interesting Ferrari for just S$300K to drive for 10yrs which is very decent. The late 599s have far higher parf which means they're best for export & the complex computer system may be expensive to maintain which means not ideal for long term keeping, 575 is simpler. I seriously thank the ex-owner of my Diablo, he gave up almost $200K hard cash refund excluding the body to renew the coe although I'm helping to pay for it now Congratulations! Which new toy are we looking at?
Hey, if coe drops to reasonable price, please renew it! Body is not worth much anyway. Is yours the V8 version?
Congrats Please post pic of your Mclaren! You selling your 458? May have a friend keen on it! I wish It was me though
Woah, early Christmas present ^^ Then how? Can we "Hammer" the coe down? Now, what can we buy with S$77K..... ouch!
I gotta reccomend one of these things for people who're really concerned about stone chips Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have been told to expect my car to arrive mid Jan. The showroom has to be ready for them to deliver the car. I have spec it in Orange with black/alcantara interior. Planning to spray the wheels to glossy black. Have also spec some CF in the interior and the engine bay. IRIS, which is the SATNAV and stereo and finally sports exhaust. Will be saying bye bye to my 458. It has 3K mileage only. Anyone interested please send me a PM.
You gonna get one? Just alot of irritating nonsense like the window cable snapping, speakers and other interior parts getting slightly loose, rubber buttons getting sticky and the steering wheel used to make funny squeaking noises when I full locked it. There's this sensor near the engine that got contaminated by oil once and caused the check engine light to turn on. Multiple sources told me that it was a common problem on the enzo and the 599. You could replace it for lots of $$$ or you could just get it cleaned and resealed and it'll work fine again. Also, if any of the lights in your headlamp compartment blows, they will have to remove the entire front/side panel of the car to replace it. It is a ton of work just to change one little bulb. IA also once got my wheel alignments wrong after changing my tires, that turned out to be really scary when we went for the johor sultan drive because the steering started to get really light and vibrated excessively after i went beyond 170. Generally speaking, the only thing that was actually a serious problem that made the car undrivable was the window cable snapping since I couldn't wind up the window anymore, the rest were just minor inconveniences.
It is sad that the Coe is so high now. Would be nice to see this car stay on our roads past the 10 yr mark. One way to get financing I suppose is to renew the Coe and forfeit the remaining 2 yrs. As for the insurance, IMHO just go for third party cos if the car is gonna be written off, insurance is not gonna pay you much. And if it's a minor accident, the excess is gonna bleed you dry anyway.
