Saw that too bro, hot topic of the town now.. .... Singapore Seen | Ferrari owner sues agent after its test-driver wrecks car in crash
Well. From my experience & others, V12s looks set to lose easily Rm100K per year. They become very difficult to sell after 10yrs old as finance is tough which is quite universal. The rich won't buy them, preferring new models & the poor ones ain't got couple of hundred thousand cash lying around for toys especially when Rm350K buys you an apartment in KL. The nail is the 5 figure road tax when a 2litre engine costs just a couple of hundred bucks!
This is the sort of conversations that make people leave the chatroom and lurk, for fear of being exposed one day of being a rear entry soldier.
Guys anybody entering the 2014 Mille Miglia Tribute here? Just saw this: Classic Car Tours International : FERRARI CLUB OF AUSTRALIA 2014 MILLE MIGLIA FERRARI TRIBUTE AND EUROPEAN TOUR It's an annual event, I checked with factory couple of months back but they're blank anyway I think it's a last minute thing as usual so am considering to do the 2015 edition. Will either field my Boxer or get another cheap modern Fcar for it in UK/Swiss.
Hi all on this thread, I have just purchased a Rosso Corsa 1994 512Tr #99391 in the UK. The car was shipped to its original owner in Singapore. I would like to try and trace the cars history a little, and contact the first owner, if possible .......and thought this thread, might be the ideal place to start! Not that it will help very much, but latest picture of the car below, anyway! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Jez, congrats on the interesting acquisition. Unfortunately, I'm not with the community at that time so can't help you as we don't even know how many 512 came into Singapore although there's one left here but my guess is it can't be more than 10. They're quite rare isn't it especially in RHD.
Thanks, I was reliably informed, that only 88 UK RHD 512 TR's (of which mine is one), ever left the Factory, so even 10 examples in Singapore would be quite high..... hopefully i will get to catch up with the original owner , one day! BR, Jez
That's pretty small nos huh. There's one more ex-UK sitting somewhere in a warehouse unreg. over here & two registered 512M on this island. You can contact the ex Ferrari agent HongSeh motors to find out more about your car. Do you have the original books? There's one page in the manual that's supposed to be signed off by the workshop manager for delivery to the client which might include the client's name & address. The signatory could well be Mr Ben Low who's still working on F cars today & we see him often.
Hi Jez, congrats on your acquisition. Is your TR equipped with abs? I understand that only 38 rhd units are equipped with abs and that makes it even rarer!
Hi Douglas, Thanks, and yes ,it is one of the 38 ABS equipped 512tr models ,with high level brake light (which I understand was an option on cars originally destined for Singapore and Hong Kong. I'm back in the UK this week, so hoping to take her for a drive, but weather looks atrocious .... So might have to postpone :-(
I've only been in Singapore for about 6hrs and I've already seen a Gallardo and a California outside my hotel in Chinatown. Also, it's quite hot here isn't it?
Just saw a G500 plate "456" in Monaco Timothy Teo , one of your mates .. You told me that you guys come here a lot
