Im looking for opinions on the SLS AMG, how good is it from an owners experience, do you think it will hold its price more or depreciate like a rock as other Mercedes do?

    Thanks

    I actually disagree.

This is not a regular Mercedes, nor does it cost 500k like the SLR.

So I think it has very little depreciation room, I just don't see a car like this going under a 100k at all or at least for 10 years or so. It's no just a regular SL. It's a unique high performance sports car comparable to the 458.

I would expect depreciation percentages to be on par with a CLK63 Black. Orignial MSRP of around $135k, now three years later average selling price around $80k. 40% drop in other words. SL65 Black will be similar if not worse.

The SLS already appears to be selling for MSRP or perhaps a bit less.

So in 2013 I would think you would see SLS examples with a few (15k) miles going in the low $100 range for asking price.

Seeing how many are being built and that is still a Mercedes, i think it will devaluate like a 911 Turbo if not more. The market is very crowded. Eventhough the SLS is an amazing machine, it doesnt have the cachet of an Aston Martin or even of a used Ferrari. 599's are available in the low 200's already...

Unless they limit production, it will go down fast..sure not as fast as a SL55 but still fast enough to hurt the first owner.

It needs a supercharger and then all would be right with the world.
