I am a sports MD and my father-in-law is an archer. Does that help? :)

Well...I was trying to figure out the mechanics of "archer"s elbow". What is actually being damaged from archery like the known injury in tennis elbow or thrower's elbow.

I would think it would be medial epicondylitis of the elbow that is pulling back the bow strings as you are using the flexor muscles of the hand/forearm creating a possible strain on the common flexor tendon. I am assuming the symptoms are not on the arm that is straight and is used for holding up the bow and aiming. I would suspect possible shoulder problems in that arm.
