Anyone on f-chat got a V8 Vantage or a DB9? I don't think I've ever seen one mentioned in anyone's profile. I'm surprised - all the other usual suspects seem to be present (Porsches, Bentley CGT, just about any SUV). I absolutely love these cars, saw a beautiful Vertigo Blue V8 Vantage for sale at a dealer the other day. It was absolutely stunning.

Also saw a DB7 Zagato in London a while back. Unbelievably good looking car.

So come on Aston owners, show us your cars!

I don't have one yet, but my V8 Vantage is due to arrive in a few weeks (Meteorite Silver w/ black cherry interior). I still have a Boxer ('81, carb, black/bordeaux) and a 308 GTB ('77, glass, euro dry-sump, black/tan), but I decided to sell my 365 gt 2+2 and buy the Vantage. It is the first new car I've been seriously tempted to buy. I think the styling is fantastic and after a test drive that really impressed me, I ordered one. Had to sell the 365 to make room, but I think it will be worth it. The V8 Vantage is not a supercar in terms of performance (slower than a 360 or a 550, for example, which I also considered) but I think it is a lot better looking and I really liked the overall feel of the car. I also feel sort of disenfranchised by the whole modern Ferrari thing, where the cars are mostly for posing, and are typically sold after a few years with almost no miles. I love mechanical things, especially cars, but the whole status thing and the ridiculous manipulation of the market has pretty much turned me off to newer Ferraris, even though I think the cars are great. I suppose if I could actually go to my dealer, be treated nicely and buy a car for sticker, I'd buy a 430. But since they were all sold to the dealer's buddies and are now for sale again with no miles, a year old, and with a 50-100k markup, they can pound sand. Buying from the Aston Martin dealer was a pleasure, and they actually treat their customers as if they appreciate them- what a concept!

I saw it in white at the NY autoshow and was really impressed. I don't think the lack of HP is a big deal. Unlike styling, quality, or handling that is fairly easy to take care of.

Mine will be a 2007, I think one of the first to arrive in the US. It sounds to me like they have worked through a few glitches on the 2006 models, and the 2007s should be well sorted. I liked the look of the 2006 seats, but not the lumbar support- I hear the 2007 seats are better in that regard. I waffled between Toro Red and the Meteorite and eventually chose the Meteorite. I've yet to see a black cherry interior in person, but I am assured they are spectacular. In photos they tend to look a little purplish, but I've spoken with several people that have assured my that it is just between the iron ore and the dark brown and will look great. I can't wait to get it.

Yea, I think Meteorite is the best color for the car personally. I went with a light color interior for the seats and dash and then dark carpets and dark headliner. I spent like a half hour picking out diff samples for diff parts of the interior and putting them inside car to see what would look good, all the way down to the color of the seatbelts, ha. Pretty crazy how many things you can customize in that car.

That's cool that you're getting yours so soon. I ordered mine like in March I think. I was supposed to have a 2006 by now but it got pushed back and now im getting the 2007 but I gotta wait till January.

I didn't even get a chance to test drive one. I drove the db9 and really liked it but I liked the looks of the vantage more plus it's more of a handler so I just went with it. Have you driven the db9? If so, how do you compare the Vantage to it

Meteriorite looks great, and the black cherry leather is really nice in person - much nice than Iron Ore IMHO.

Here are some pics of the one I saw the other day (they are the dealers pics from the web - I didn't have a camera with me). I'd never seen one with an exterior colour like this - absolutely gorgeous IMHO. Car is Vertigo Blue with black/sandstorm inteior. I can't afford one, otherwise I'd have bought this one on the spot - I was absolutely stunned by it.

As for customising the car - they've got one of those configurator things on www.astonmartin.co.uk - it doesn't have the full range of colours (not anywhere close to the full range), but you can still spend hours playing around with different interior colour combo - great how you can choose colours for inner/outer seat, dash, doors, carpet, stitching, carpet stitching(!), etc...

Bet you guys can't wait to get your cars - please post some pics when you do!

Sandstorm will look fab against the Meteorite paintwork and the dark carpets/headliner! Forgive my ignorance, but is the picture you've posted a DB9 (I guess you were just using it for colour reference)? V8 Vantages in the UK are only available with a stick shift, not a touchtronic box - is this the same in the US? Further, I believe you can't have wooden door cappings on the V8 in the UK (in fact the standard choices are piano black or aluminium for the dash panel, with wood trim being special order only).
