I need some advice with my dog. He's a 7 year old staffordshire terrier. He was diagnosed with a case of worms the week before last. He was given two shots and put on a 3 day treatment of Panacur. At first he seemed to get better and the runs had stopped. He had lost a lot weight and he seemed to be eating better. This week he seems to have taken a turn for the worse. last night he would barely move, the runs have returned, and he not eating. He seems to have lost even more weight, and has no energy at all. I understand that sometimes a 3 day treatment isn't enough and they put him on a 5 to 7 day treatment. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice at all. How do i got about putting some weight back on him if he pulls through this or anything at all. i'm really worried about my pup, he looks truly awfull....

What kind of worms? I'm assuming it's a parasitic, intestinal worm (vs. heart worms). Have you located the source? Besides the medical care, make sure that your pup isn't picking these up somewhere around your house, whether from another dog's waste or even from some food source. Good luck, and keep us posted.

I just found out today that he was misdiagnosed the first time, i took him to a different vet and he discovered he has a blockage in his intestine. He's gonna get x-rayed tommorrow to see if it's something he might have eaten or a tumor. If it's a tumor it will not be good. Thanks for the concern, i'll let everyone know the deal tomorrow.

It's a tumor in his belly, that seems to be spreading to his chest. The vet is gonna start him on steroids to make him comfortable but all we have is a couple of months according to him, needless to say i'm heartbroken.....................

    How much do they make?

I've heard from plenty of people that vet school is very difficult to get into, even more than medical school.
