Well, it's been almost 8 months since I posted that comment. I was getting some clothes for my Vegas trip I'm about to go on here in just a few hours and I looked at some watches. I have noticed myself looking at watches more and more when I go places. So I came across some watches I could get a really good price on. And yep, I finally bought my first watch. It's no hand made swiss Maurice Lacroix but it's a very nice not flashy Bulova. The Marine Star 96G30

So now I own a nice watch, and I'm happy I bought it. It looks nice on me with a good outfit and I don't have to reach into my pocket to look at my cell phone for time now. It retails for $225, I got it brand new for $118 after tax. Not too shabby.

Look what you people did to me! :)

If any of you are ever in Phoenix, do NOT go in E G Marshall jewelers. It's on Scottsdale Rd at Shea. OMG! They have every nice watch you've ever wanted, and some you didn't even know existed. I put on a Ulysse Nardin Freak watch, very cool. Then I looked at the price. $47,000. Never mind.

A friend of mine just showed me his Girard Perregaux "Foudroyante" titanium Ferrari split second chronograph. No 41 out of 100. Very nice and discreet; no prancing horse or Ferrari logo, so not for show-offs!

He said it was about £15k new in 1999.

He will now sell it if the right price was offered. PM me and I will pass the details on.

Very cool! I'd love to see that in motion.

I really love their Plantarium Copernicus watch. I can only imagine how much that would cost...

I also like watches but I'm not a collector. I've got a circa 69 heur monaco and at mid 50's gold hamilton. I wear the heur pretty most days, and switch off with a breitling and frank meuller (the latter two are knockoffs. here they are>

Time Bomb by Oakley. Whopping $25K!! What's so special about this watch?? I wonder what type of people will shell out this much money for Oakley. Costs more than 2 of Daytona! (don't get me wrong, I do respect their move to come out this watch. Just wondering who they targeted for buyers though)

Corum will release beautiful, true skelton watch, Golden Bridge.
Harry Winston's Opus V seems interesting.
Dunhill's Citytamer or Cityfighter looks pretty cool, especially w/ facet cut of a dial cover.
Nardin's watch are always cool. Seen Kepler model? How about their minute repeaters? Most beautiful sound for m repeater watches so far. And I really like Royal Blue Tourbillion!!

I wonder how fortunate I can be if any of these watches join my collection.

I don't know how you guys get these pics. I found some pics of watches I listed earlier, but I don't know how to post them here!

BTW, Nardin's Plantarium Copernicus is also beautiful watch, like Peter posted.

Jimpo has a good taste in watches, but he just spend $ on wrong things like lake houseS!

persiflage, I had that watch, too, and I may get that watch again on used market. Packaging is cool, huh? Too bad, you can't carry that on the wrist.

I know that HW isn't normally linked to Ferrari but you have to view this watch which is a tour-de-force for the famed jeweller. The nickname is 3D and when you understand its mechanics you will understand why it was given the moniker.

    Here is the link: http://www.network54.com/Forum/message?forumid=274559&messageid=1112215571

Probably cost enough to buy a decent second hand Ferrari.
