Here's my unique Audemars which incidently I want to sell, and a couple of pictures of a nice 1991 Longines. I bought the Longines from an F1 driver I know (I won't name drop!) and it was presented to Martin Brundle on the grid at the Montreal Grand Prix 29th May 1991, by the tobacco sponsors Players Ltee (that's the engraving which doesn't show too well). My bad decision that day was to decline his kind offer to sell me the other, identical watch for ten pounds more! The other watch had been presented to a little known Brazilian chap.....Ayrton Senna! I owned a Blancpain Flyback, Blancpain 2100 and a Blancpain 2185 chrono. See the link below for a great review with lots of my Blancpain 2185. http://www.mikemargolis.com/kenross.htm Ken
Hey There, I got mine back in '98 after I bailed out of my stricken beast and had to hike back to civilazation. At the time they were not sold in the US because the FCC was worried about false alerts, so they wouldn't license the transmitter. One minor, (Yet significant.) point: It isn't an EPRB, it is an ELT. (EPRB= Emergency Positioning Radio Beacon, ELT= Emergency Locator Transmitter. EPRB's are primarily for marine use, ELT's are for Aviation use. They both operate on 121.5, and both are generally needed when the proverbial s_it hits the fan, hence the confusion I think.) I sold mine to a nice guy in Toronto last year, I miss it greatly. In any case, enjoy it in good health, may you never need it's superlative qualities. BTW- The batteries for the ELT are seperate from the batteries for the Quartz movement. The case is very easy to dissasemble: 4 screws on the back and the entire movement detaches itself from the main case. There are two sets of batteries, so don't be surprised if you change one set and your watch still doesn't tell time!!. If you aren't going scuba diving, don't be afraid to change them yourself. Cheers, dce
Noticed some people likes H. Winston's Opus V model. I didn't know how rare it is, and its price till yesterday though! 1st year, they made 45 pcs, and this year, they'll make 100 pcs, priced at $107K, $192K w/ diamonds. I cannot believe this watch will cost almost the same as 4 years of college education. I wonder I'll ever be able to see this watch in person..... Watch prices are going crazy w/ everyone making special models (limited production), tourbillion watches, etc.
The Opus V does it for me in a HUGE way! And I'm pretty sure that's one that will never be ripped off.
Where did you see the Time Bomb priced at $25K???!!! What's it made out of? I have a Time Bomb. Maybe it's time to sell, sell, SELL!!!
I saw these 2 this past weekend and they've been staying on my mind. Louis Vuitton Tambour and Speedy Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
<http://oakley.com/o/o2120d> This one's limited edition. I learned after I posted that there're standard model for Time Bomb.
I think LV watches are coming strong (wishful thinking?) They're releasing a blue a band to go w/ the racing watch model. It looks better than yellow belt! Check out their diving watch model & LV Cup Regate model, too!
These are the three that I still want to add to the collection. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
There is alot of hype whith the BR01 series, especially the carbon finish BR0194. Personally the case is too large for me and as the ad suggest it could be easily destrapped and the case used as a table watch. This is the option I will probably use if I owned one. Coupled with B&R marketing strategy people are willing to pay and wait 3 mths for it. In fact my company is doing brisk sales on these babies. What do u guys think, is it worth the hype?
Well, thanks guys. I am now in love with satellite watches. I have to get myself an Urwerk 103.3 and a Harry Winston OpusV. These 2 are worth more than a decent car. Damn.
This is getting to be fun! Just bought this one today to add to my small but growing amatuer collection. Next I'm thinking Omega or Breitling. Image Unavailable, Please Login
MJ probably got it free for promotion! I'm just being a royal customer to LV! Seriously, I do like their watches though. You've seen some of them, didn't you like them? I really like their limited edition Diver's watch (rose gold casing w/ orange flourescent characters) Eric, I'm start having old men's vision, so I cannot see any letters on these watches if they are on my wrist!! I can't guess what B&R stands for nor BR01 series watch. I googled, but couldn't find any info. I want to take a look, so please give me more info.
