OK, I can't afford more than a $500 watch, but possible I might swing something better trading out with a new sponsor that wants to offer high end watches to our users. I've always liked the GP 330/P4, but wanted to ask first if that is the watch I should go for? For around the same price range or less is there another Ferrari watch I should consider? Are the Panerai Ferrari watches out yet? If not, I guess if I want a Ferrari watch it has to be GP. I really like the silver face version of the 330/P4, please offer your input. Also, what kinda of prices should I look at for it? I don't know exactly, but I think it retails $6,900? I've seen used ones on ebay around $3,000? This would be a new watch with warranty.
I love my watches, my current favorite, and daily driver (lol) is a white faced Rolex Explorer II, its highly antimagnetic which makes it a wonderful choice for sailing and hiking, where the use of a compass is common. I have GMT Master, A few Cartier, Raymond Weil, Porsche Design, Tag which I never wear, am looking for a Mercedes Tag F1 Proto (the watch that Tag makes that comes with an SLR Mercedes.)
Here is my daily driver.....of course my 550 is NART blue...but my X5 is red* Bill H Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have a few decent watches, but there's only one that I really want: the Cartier Roadster. That is one slick timepiece, in steel with a white face. Shame I can't afford one. (Anyone know where I can get my hands on one at a reasonable price?)
Well, I haven't gotten specific advice from my post, so I assume for the money the 330/P4 is the way to go out of GP watches?
Interesting. I thought Hublot was first with this style, but I could be wrong. Image Unavailable, Please Login
It;s really all a matter of taste Rob. GP makes wonderful timepieces and until recently were the exclusive manufacturer for Ferrari pieces. The secondary market for GP in the US is soft though, so you should be able to find a new or like new GP of your liking at a very attractive price point. AS the Panny's are concerned, they are going to cost you BIG money compared with teh price points that you mention ($500 not being realistic regardless). Shoot me a PM and I'll be happy to point you in the right direction to finding the "right" timepiece for you.
They just introduced that piece to revive the brand. AP was definitely first to market with the Montoya and others prior to anything similar from Hublot. I do have to say that they did hit a homerun with the BIG BANG though. Good to see Hublot coming back from the dead...

I was able to attend a small lunch with Jean Claude Biver (tne new CEO of Hublot) given in the Bay Area where he was showing off the 2005 line and expounding on the new marketing and product strategies at Hublot. The watches were fantastic (including their new Tourbillons). He certainly seems to have re-energized the company.
haha I picked one up myself (brown color case), Not bad at all... Looks pretty good for $20, love the clear window section where you can see them all line up. The inside strap holders kinda cheap thou, but it hides and tucks in all the way and you cant see it at all... Thanks for the info...
No problem its a good deal one problem i have is that its filled (6 slots) so i dont know what to do with the next one. Someone has to go
Get another one, side by side I need to buy 2 more cases, one more for me for more watches and the other for my jealous bro-in-law (another watch nut) haha... Cheers!
If you really want to get GP Ferrari watch then I suggest you go for nice used ones as the prices are much more attractive than buying brand new. Panerai Ferrari will definitely be in short supply as shops are taking long waiting list now though the price and the design still not confirmed yet!
Finally, someone else that likes the Oris Divers Regulator! Great watch. Rob, buy the GP you want, you won't like the prices on the Panerais. They'll be expensive when they finally come out and the production will be limited enough that they should maintain their value on the secondary market. Used GP's are pretty reasonable. Just don't buy another 'fashion' watch!
i've just purchased this watch off ebay. can't wait to get it next week !!!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5042810091&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1
Wow! Awsome watches guys! Some of you have quite the collections. I'm just a poor student without the budget for a nice watch, but as soon as I can I'm going to buy this Tag Heuer. Image Unavailable, Please Login
