The Oris Schumacher came in a huge box, to fit the watch, a team hat, and, get this...........a cardboard cutout figure of Ralf Schumacher to stand on your desk. ???????? It's bizarre.
I like it in black too, but I'm afraid the "ion coating" or whatever would get scratched off too easily. Image Unavailable, Please Login
i looked at that watch it was nice but it has a really big face and is kinda confusing i ended up buying this one Image Unavailable, Please Login
Jeff, How much is this watch? Hope you dont mind me asking.. Looks nice, I like it! Thanks! I like this one too, face is different. Good choice
FD, that coating is probably PVD, and you shouldn't have any issues with it scratching off. There are very expensive watches out there that have the same coating.
PVD does scratch. A light scratch discolors and a deep scratch can show the underlying metal. There's a rare model of Panerai that has a PVD coating and many owners won't wear them for fear of scratching since Panerai won't recoat the PVD.
Saw BRM V14 Skelton watch this weekend. Looked nice by itself & on my wrist! I was ready to buy it, then my lady friend whispered "this watch is more than $16K". I assumed it was around $5K like other BRMs... Good thing I didn't say to the salesman "I'll take it"... Do you know why this model costs almost triple of other BRM models? Well, we have similar taste in watches, so you must like this watch, too! Yeah, I thought so, too. I was going to switch the strap to all red or yellow, depending on the color of hour/minute needle. It's just skelton model looks much better.
I have this TAG HEUER Professional Chronograph that I am thinking about selling to trade up to something else. I paid 2700.00 new for it about 3 years ago. Any of you pros know how much it would be worth now? I have all of the paperwork, case etc. Sorry for the blurry photo but I just took it real quick. Thanks, Nate Image Unavailable, Please Login
Does anyone know of a site that gives estimates for Breitling watches? I have a Montbrillant with moon phases that supposidely was only made in the early 90's. I can get some pics up of it but it is black face, leather strap and back of case has all the GMT time zones on it (very cool)... It also has the rotating bezel found on a navitimer... Thanks for any input on it...
I hope my Santa speaks Russsian. Having bought two watches this year (chopard mm and oris chronoris), I have gone "economy", requesting this alarm watch for under the tree. http://www.russiansouvenirs.com/web/watch/pal101.htm Image Unavailable, Please Login

Let's see, all of 7 posts so far and 4 are about selling your Panerai's. Wouldn't you be better off on TimeZone?
And those 3 other posts + an empty profile DO inspire enough confidence of course to jump right at it and buy those watches of course!
I was checking out the JLCs (Master Geographic had me salivating) at the Stanford Mall and on the way out my wife asked me if I had ever considered a Panerai, since they are Italian and it would be consistent with my car tastes. My response was: "Every other clown in Silicon Valley has a Panerai now since they are so hip". The ironic bit was that one of those clowns was just passing us outside and gave me a very dirtly look upon overhearing my comment. I did prove my point. I think that they went from boutique, to Hollywood cool, and now to something else entirely. Two new brands that I have been inestigating of late has been Anonimo and NB Yager. This thing is a disease.... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
