Any1 actually pay for a car on their credit card?

    you can buy a car on the black card (tried it), but then you also have to reimburse the dealer for the fee - which of course makes no sense since the points are not worth more than 1pct of the number you have.

    btw, there was a considerably lower limit on the platinum card when i tried to use that for a large purchase. i did manage to put a $25k item on platinum though, so arguably the black card is kind of a waste. fwiw.

    the companies have really cracked down on trying to pad points, I remember people using there cards to buy t-bills or savings bonds at some point, the backs quickly caught on
