    It's not that it's bad, it's that it has to re-learn. So the car will not drive right until it goes through the process again. It is much easier, and in my opinion better, to use a battery tender to keep the battery fully charged.

    I disconnect the battery using the switch every week (until the next weekend's driving). It only takes ten minutes of running (according to the owners' manual) for the ECU to relearn its parameters. I have not noticed any problems.

    My Challenge car has a battery switch, and I have noticed nothing of the sort. Just cut it off whenever I stop. If I leave it overnight, it's off. If I stop for Coffee, it's off. No problem. FoWash wired it, so I cannot tell you how it was done. I never had a problem with a weak battery, and as far as I am concerned, it is built in antitheif.
