I would drive the Lusso from Nottingham England if I go. The drive looks so easy on Google Maps! maybe 4 days to get there comfortably?

What a shame they stopped the Motorail to Nice.

At least with four days you can avoid the payage and other boring bits

Well, I believe you can still get Autorail from Lille, but why not try the old pre-autoroute route to avoid Paris.
Book a cabin on the 10.00pm Newhaven-Dieppe Ferry
Breakfast in Chartres next to the cathedral
South to Orleans .. worth a vist
Follow the Loire Valley SE through Sully sur Loire to Chatillon where you can pick up RN 7 that used to be the main North South artery driven along in the past by many a Ferrari owner hotfooting it from Paris to the Azure Coast. RN7 will take you through the white wine country (Sancerre Pouilly) to Lyon where you can find the best French cuisine south of Belgium (or at least, thats what 'les Belges' say). Watch out for those curves as you drop down into the Rhone Valley!
Make sure you get a hotel with a garage.

From Lyon the route via Aix is pretty obvious and you can make it to Monaco in a day.

Here's a more spectacular but little known route that includes a Motor Museum.

East through the mountains to Turin either via the motorway (E70) and through the tunnel or (better but time consuming) via Huez and Briancon over the Col de Sestriere then turn north to Oulx where you can pick up the ordinary road (SS24) or the E70 autoroute down to Turin.
You can simply whizz past on the bypass and head for Monaco but Turin is worth a visit to see the former capital of the Kingdom of Savoy with its classicaly laid out centre where they filmed 'The Italian Job' with the original Mini-Cooper and if you have taken the slow route via Briancon you will probably want to stay the night and should still have time to visit the Italian National Motor Museum. Turin is after all the home of the 'Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino', owners of you know who. (I do not know what's in there so please take some pics to show us all). Its on the banks of the Po river on the south side of the town.
From Turin head south on the autostrada towards Savona exiting to take the spur towards Cuneo. Follow signs for Borgo San Dalmazzo and Limone di Piemonte on (E74 SS20)where there is a little known tunnel which takes you through to Tende and down to the sea at the border town of Ventimiglia where you are only 15 miles from Monaco!
NB make sure you go via Ventimiglia, do NOT follow signs to Nice until you get to Ventimiglia unless you want spend an extra couple of hours practicing your cornering on some really tortuous narrow mountain roads beloved of the Monte Carlo Rally boys.

Lyon - Turin is about 4 hours if you take the motorway and so is Turin - Monaco via Tende

If you'd prefer to take the motorway Turin Monaco via Savona saves about an hour

That compares to 5 motorway hours Lyon - Monaco via Aix.

    Bon voyage!
