    I just received a C-Spot Drive pass (with laynard LOL!) to attend Mercedes' C-Spot Drive Party:

    They are conducting a C-Class drive party around the country. You can actually drive the cars around the speedway. The C32AMG will be there as well. Looks like fun from the preview videos. I'm going to drive like I work for Car and Driver!

    Has anybody else been to one of these? What was it like?

    I've saved an invitation from them to come in for a test drive.
    They sent it to my son, when he was four!

    He's only got two years to go before he can respond!

    I got an invite and am registered for the event at El Toro on late Sunday. The AMG's would be the ONLY thing worth driving IMO.

    Can't do it on Saturday because of vintage races at Fontana with Porsche Owners Club. The theme is Tribute to Le Mans, which means BIG HP machines will be running.

    Dale, with your "G" spot parties and talk of weed smokers at the side of the road, I am beginning to think you are much more than a boring bean counter ;) :D



    As far as MB test drives, there is one in Vegas every year for the computer convention (name escapes me). Got to drive an E55 Amg and it was a blast. C class is not my cup of tea. :)

    I went to the one here in Michigan and it SUCKED. Their curvey course was pretty weak, didn't try the slippery course, but the ride in the AMG with the race driver was pretty fun. Unfortunately for me, the place they were using had a concert that night, and so out of the 2 hours it was scheduled, I got 30 minutes - and literally 2 minutes of car time out of that 30 minutes. BMW did one last year that was much, MUCH better. More car time, instruction from a race driver, etc all in a 330i Sport. This year BMW is using X3's. Who the hell wants to hot lap one of those?

    Interesting marketing idea, poor execution - at least for those of us that into DRIVING. Just my $.02.....
