I am thinking about buying an investement property. (log home)
Possibly renting it out for most of the year and using it for personal vacations once or twice a year.
Ive done some research and the area looks like its frequented quite regularly by people looking for weekly rentals.

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.
    Thanks

by Blue Ridge mountains do you mean Blue Ridge GA or "the Blue Ridge Mountains" of West VA and that area?

I am from Blue Ridge, GA and can help you out there. I have several friends who build/sell cabins there.

Well you can PM me or e-mail me and I can can put you in touch with the right people. I also still have family and friends up there, so I still go up pretty often, if you plan a trip up there, I'd be glad to show you around. Lots of water front up there - river, stream, lake. Also, lots of nice mountain view homes too. You can get some good deals right now. Let me know how i can help.

It is a great area for a rental home. I rent in the north Georgia / North Carolina mountains maybe 4-5 weeks per year. I pay an AVERAGE of around $1300 per week (lower in Georgia, higher in NC). It is a great place as long as you avoid the most popular tourist areas.

Which websites do you check for rentals? We just let our ads expire (the cabin is in NC, Ashe County). We had a number of lookers according to the site, but not that many calls. We're looking for a site with more activity.
    Thanks.
