Maybe it's news to you..but we've been having AMs as far as they start building it!!! Royaltys love it to bits. DB2/DB3/DB4/DB5 and of course the above punter's DB6, even the quirky Lagonda (Town's versh) but I did also spot the old V8 faced Lagonda saloon sometime in early 80's when I was a kid. V8/Vantage..what have yous and of course the later series of DB7s/DB9s and Vanqs...

    .

Strange question Bails, what do you expect him to say? "S..th...e or future World Champion"? Maybe you meant to say something like " do you enjoy driving them?" Are you going on carby run Sunday?, Tame is driving the 308 for me.

    Dear Tifosi 66,

We have not "spoken" before but you may wish to note that its not only the David Browns that are available. There are a few 20s/30s internationals and at least one Le Mans still about in Sing/M'sia. When well kept, they are truly beautiful cars.

Yep, I guessed as much. The late Sultan of Selangor (father of the current one ) has affinities for all things British and has owned and kept many AMs. So do the other royaltys and some private connoisseurs of fine cars. Maybe the 'colonial' thingy...Nevertheless, the Brits do know how to make handsome and 'royal' looking cars..

    Bails,

I haven't owned any AM yet..(the new V8 Vantage sounds like good preposition, price wise though ) and yes, am fully aware of the foibles of Britcars, esp. in hot and humid country like SG and MY. Nevertheless there are Aston Martins here and even though they're downright handsome cars to look at, never entertained the THOUGHT of owning one till the V8 came along.

No worries mate, problem is, over here the prices are very extremely steep-ish. Not to mention the road tax are calculated based on motor displacement. Without going into details, let's say an annual road-tax of an AM DB9/Vanq will keep a 2.0L car on the road for er...42 years!!!! Last of the Holdens were brought in 1983 methinks, the biggest being the Statesman 3.1Lits!!! My dad used to have a Premier 3.1 back then and I did taste a bit of 'Americana'....That's why you see a lot of MBZ 280s and BMWs 730is in MY and SG and not the 500s/600s. SG shares the same ruling as MY as far as taxes go but they do have other issues like COE etc..etc...
