Anybody remember Irvine in 96 and 97 and how many points he scored, considering that this car may be the worst in 2 decades maybe Massa is still doing better than Irvine?

I don´t remember him crashing so often.

Although I think that except in 1996 he had better cars.

Irvine finished 10th with 11 points in 96 and 1997 finished 8th with 24 points.

The points system was a lot different back then.
Using today's system, he would have 59 points in 96 and 95 points for 97
In 2012, massa scored 57 points and was 7th. 95 points would have placed you at fifth, two points ahead of webber (ham scored 99 pts last year.)
I wasnt an F1 viewer back then. Why did Eddie retire so much back then?

Back then you had a lot of races where half of the cars retired so it was easier to stay in the race and get points with reliability.

    The car was junk.

MS worked miracles with the 1996 and 1997 Ferraris.

I remember one incident where MS sat it on pole in 1996 for the French GP and the car blew up on the warm up lap...
