Anybody know of a reputable starter rebuilder in the SAT / AUS areas? My starter is intermittently going south and needs attention. Thanks,

    Shan

I had my 348 starter rebuilt a few years ago at Capital 512.385.8038.

It too was intermittently failing. They did a great job in just a few days for much less than the cost of a replacement.

Moorespeed sent my altenator out to someone here in Austin recently and had it rebuilt. I would think that they could do the same for a starter. You may want to ask David who he uses.

I'm having my steering rack replaced this week. I'll be at the tech session tonight. Will I see you there Shan?

Hi Kelly, how's it going? I really want to tonight but can't - I have a staff meeting at 6:30. Ugh.

A-1 Auto Electric on South Congress is far and away the best place in Austin, if you're still looking. I just took a generator starter to them and they had it back to me in a day. To give you an idea of their attention to detail: they painted the damned starter!

If you need it, I can dig out their phone number, but they're listed in the yellow pages.

Thanks guys. I found a good automotive electric rebuild shop close by. They specialize in Nippondenso and charge $50 plus parts. Typical rebuild seems to be about $75 out the door. Easiest repair on my car so far.
