I found a 95 355 that the seller says has had a recent 30k service and complete exhaust repair including headers with a "Strembo flow through" The car is listed in Miami by Kessler auto group and was owned by a doctor in Indiana vin number ZFFPR41A5S0100585. Any help on this car would be appreciated. Just a little paranoid buying out of area because of a bad experience buying my Testarossa. Thanks

I have dealt with Steve Kessler many times and no issues at all. That being said spend the money for a proper PPi done by by anyone other then the Ferrari Collection in Miami.

If you buy it, you'll be the third doctor to own this car. Kessler sold this car new to Dr. Fred Epstein in Greenwich, CT.

For a PPI in Florida give Tim Stanford a call 954-764-7824.

I have to agree. I don't know why but every time I leave the Collection I feel like I need a shower.

Hi there, I'm new here and found this thread about a 355 on google. Looks like this actual car has been imported into Canada and now for sale here. I went and took a look at it. Body seems to be in nice shape. Talked to the dealer and he told me that I was lucky that I did not import it myself, as there were a couple things that needed to be fixed (e.g. clutch, bearing, cv boots, seals, etc) that the PPI failed to reveal, but now it is suppose to be in good shape.

I do have a question about a missing part in the engine (see pic). When I look at pictures of other 95 355 engine bays there is a silver cylindrical part that is in place, but not in this car. Anyone know what this part is for?

    Thanks

    Erik

Somebody has removed the (sometimes) exhaist bypass valve and fitted a straight through connector. Do a search on '355 Exhaust bypass valve' and read away, opinion is divided whether it's good to remove it, wire it open or leave as is :)

    Thanks Mark!

Do you (or anyone else) know what are the acceptable compression figures on the engine?

What compression figures signal a engine rebuild is near?

The pros will undoubtedly ring in soon, but the specs are 150 psi minimum with less than 10% variation between cylinders. Strong cars seem to be over 200 psi across the board. I personally would be concerned of anything under 175.

You should have a leak down test done also. Others on the board advise to have these done before the rest of the PPI. My last PPI (and last attempt to buy a 355 for a while) had between 175 and 180 - except for #2, which had 143. I asked for a leak down, and they told me it couldn't be done with the engine in the car (at a dealership!). Beautiful car. I walked.
