Obviously, the major needs doing. Buy it, put $5k into it and you have a fresh major on a black 348 with the perfect amount of miles.

If all checks out, this is a perfect car.

 

What's the object on the center console near the gear lever?

That is a very early 1990 car -- likely one of the first 2.7 ones. 86087 would probably place it in Jan/Feb 1990 build.

Skinny muffler tips, eh Pap? Probably needs a bit of an upgrade in the exhaust department.

 

Red/tan RHD is the best combo 348 in the world.

Needs an XOST immediately.

 

Looks to be a joystick controller for the car audio. I had that setup on my vehicle back in the day when I competed in the car audio circuit.

 

I think so too. I remember Poineer used to have something very very similar. Actually looks like that one in that 348.

But wait. There's more. It had 99,899 miles on the odometer and orange peel on the engine bonnet!

 

What you do not spend initially will be made up by what you spend on repairs when you get it , get it . 10k 20k is not unheard of .
It adds up FAST ,VERY FAST !
Be carefull , the wallet you save will be your own !
If it looks too good to be true , it is .
A thorough ,thorough check of everything bumper to bumper must be done , no impulse buying .

I live about 5 miles from this place. I saw this one myself.
Just be aware that these guys are morons.
I went to look at a 1994 348 Spider once about 6 months ago. First of all, all their Ferrari's are listed as 360. I asked why and the guy told me that it was a typo. They have a lot of nice cars (Porsche, Bentley, etc.) so I figured I would let it slide. While I was there, an older gentleman showed up with his girl and asked about one of the "real" 360's he had. The gentleman asked if it was 12 cylinders and the salesman responded "yes". The guy then says that he needs to negotiate the price, so the salesman laughs at him and says he will get the manager. Later, I asked the salesman why he was telling the guy the 360 had 12 cy, did he not know anything about the cars he was selling? He responded that the guy was a schmuk and would never buy the car.
After I pissed this guy off, he sent the manager out to see me. The 348 spider was very nice and I was interested. The manager told me it was sold, but he would call me if something came up. I said OK.
The car was there for 4 more months and he never called.
I would never give these guys my money. However, the cars do look like they are in pretty good shape. Perhaps you would deal with someone a little more knowledgeable. I threw out their cards, so I couldn't tell you the guys name. Sorry.

The sellers sounded like the fools who tried originally to sell my car on ebay. Good think I had copterjon on the hunt. Better to pass on an idiot seller. Let them stew a while. Carrying a car for 4 months is better than selling it today. Hmm, wonder what masters program he came from?

Hey goth, you know why I really bought a black 348 SS? I got tired of trying to find models of a red 348 Spider!

 

Really?? I thought the red/tan/spider combo were plentiful! Were the ones you found just not in good shape?? Is yours a GTB?

 

Has anyone actually seen this car. I would be interested in knowing how the car looked. Was it a wreck? Did it need a lot of work? What was the general condition? Thanks
