I would run from this car, Don L Leasing has a rep you will learn about.

Tom... dont know anything specific abt this car's history, only that its been for sale there forEVER. Unless this is an identical black 91, I remember these same exact photos (on the lawn with fountain and hegdrow) being used on an ebay auction at least a year ago, if not longer.

Sharp looking car, but do your careful diligence with it!

Tom, search the forums on Don L Leasing and prepare for a truckload of horror stories....

And yes, I have seen that car on eBay and Dupont Registry far too many times over the past 12+ months while scouring the web for exotic cars (out of boredom, not out of prospects, ofcourse :p). Wonder what the deal is. Wasn't there a recent topic on how they were auctioning one of their Black on Red early Diablos yet it was crashed?

Thanks for the warnings guys. I'm gonna do some research on this car and dealer via the internet. I may even give a call to them to try and pry out some info.

Tim can you elaborate, without it being too painful? So many ask about Don L, it would be nice to have a post to refer them to. What could a leasing company do that is so wrong? (Other than bad terms, unfair balloon amounts, etc.) Take the car back if one payment is missed? Late frees? Or is it just the cars they sell?

    Thanks in advance,
    Billy

I'm in FL and will look at the car for you if you are interested.
Having a 92, I know the 2WD cars very well and know what to look for.

Don L has been known for dog cars and where exotics come to die. In the early years he would sell cars that were at the end of lease. Many of these cars had commerical registration and were used by rental companies. Usually no service history, etc etc. As you know, many FChatters have had a poor buying experience with them. I think they and Prestiage have the worst reputation.

Don L has had a 91 black Diablo for sale for around 80K forever. Friend of mine who does Lambo wholesale checked into one and found that it was wrapped around a pole and killed the driver. Jaws of life had to be used to split roof and get victim out. He had pix of the car at junkyard before Don bought it. Don't know if this is the same car.... I think that one did not have a wing.

At any rate, PM me if you want me to look at it.

Frank..Thanks so much for the offer to look at the car for me. I will let you know if I decide to proceed. But by judging by the very negative feedback about this business..I'm going to look elsewere. I have had my fair share of dealing with shady sales companies and people. I have been involved in battles with them. I do not want this to happen to me.

Thanks to everyone for the heads up.

    hi billy,

make the long story short, i bot a silver 00 360 from them a couple years ago (buy it now on ebay) and paid a sizable deposit (with the balance t/b wired on date of pickup).

the car was located in denver (off a lease). passport transport came to pick it up but the driver was told donleasing has already shipped the car back to florida a few days before.

i called don and was informed by one of his sidekicks that don himself has changed his mind and decided to keep the car for leasing (not even a courtesy call)........i insisted on talking to don himself but the message his people relayed back to me was "live with it....sue me or go fish".

thankfully, i never wired the rest of the payment and yes, i did receive my deposit back a few days later.

also, as a side note.....i paid $450 for a PPI to be done w/ ferrari of denver. other than a few minor issues, it passed with flying color.

when i politely suggest they refund me the PPI expenditure, they said i should be thankful they refunded me my deposit......classy folks!!!!!

in addition, they said if i will them any negative feedback on ebay, they wiuld return the favor......life is too short so i moved on and my ebay feedback is still perfect :) . to this day, i still get a bad taste in my mouth everytime i see a silver 360....

Holy *hell*, what a story... Those are the times when you REALLY do wish you had a cousin "Vinny" from NY, with pals named Lou and Guido who'd could take a trip to FL on your behalf. Furious would not even *begin* to describe my condition after an encounter like that - I would forego the eBay rating, Negative his ass off, and start a new account for myself. What scum. Ah, well... It sounds like their reputation is bad enough as-is.
