This just popped up and after seeing how much history can come up from fellow FChatters, I wanted to see if anybody knows this car and previous owners. Ferrari 430 Spider F1 | eBay

I also read some bad reviews about the dealer Marino Motors Marino Performance Motors - West Palm Beach, FL | Yelp and Ripoff Report | Marino Performance Motors Complaint Review West Palm Beach, Florida: 969484 , but people on FChat had good experiences with them.

If all checks out, what are some important things to find out about this car and what would you say is a fair price?

    Thanks!
So far, I've asked if they have all service records and where they were done. I'd need to do a PPI and I'm in Cali so any suggestions are welcome.

I know the dealer. I bought my 2007 F430 from them on Valentine's Day. This white car just came in. I do not know its history. Talk to Gil Courchane. He was honest with me and they were the only dealer of pre-owned exotics that gave me a fair trade in on my 2013 Corvette.

My car had just been completely serviced at Ferrari/Maserati of Ft. Lauderdale with all receipts available to me just prior to my purchase. I elected not to do a PPI because of that. I drove the car 600 miles to my home without incident (short of the 100's of photos taken by passers by). The only things wrong with the car was the battery would not hold a charge after sitting a few days (partly my fault for not having a tender) and I broke the passenger side window switch (easy fix).

I talked to Gil about the negative Yelp review you've posted. There are two sides to every story and some due diligence was not done on the part of the buyer. If you read the 3 non-recommended reviews (not sure why they fall in that category) you will see they are positive. The rip off report on the Porsche has a redacted input from the complainer so I don't put a lot of faith in that one.

If they weren't 500+ miles away, I would be more than happy to check out this car for you. While I may be new to Ferrari, I am not new to cars. I would buy another car from Marino Performance Motors without hesitation.

I'm sure you have already checked this out:

Thats a pretty hot car (white is very rare) so you will need to be ready to pay to play if it checks out. You might be paying much higher than other 06's to get this sweetie. I think it would be a decent deal if you got it out the door for 150.

    Pluses:
    Low miles
    White
    Shields
Color combo would be great for a hot climate
Premium stereo (not really so premium but still)
Some people will be turned off by the interior color but it makes for a nice combo with the white.

    Minuses:
Plain jane interior. I actually think the standard aluminum accents look VERY good with this color but the seats are basic

    Questionable impacts to price:
Ball polished wheels. I think it would look much better with standard wheels because they would blend in better with the interior.
    Number of Owners
    Service History
    All Keys/Fobs/Manuals
Color of brake calipers. I think yellow would have been the ticket

Thank you for sharing your experience with the dealer and congrats on your beautiful car. Thanks for this, too.
Thanks for your input. I agree and all about paying to play but that interior (and canvas top) is a "love it or hate it" set up. It would be a different story if it were black, or even red, but it's a color combo that is not to a lot of people's taste so that should come into play. How are older models holding up with non classic colors? I feel like a rare color goes at a premium on more current models, but once they're old will go for much less. For example, would a white (with a more desirable interior color like black) 308, Mondial, 348, or 355 go for higher than a red/tan now? Here is a 2006 - same miles with one owner, red/black, ASKING 129K. http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?listingId=366333235&LNX=SOMEDTWVDP

Why would a car with such few miles have so many owners? I'm not sure if the dealers are trading it (not too familiar with reading the owners on carfax).

Marino Motors and Gil were good for me when I bought my 430 about 15-months ago.
    White car looks nice.

    Kevin,

I just read the complaints on the two links you posted--they both seem weak to me, and appears Marino tried to make the one guy happy. I suppose any dealer will get a complaint. Anyway, more positive posts on Marino. Good luck with your search--the red spider is nice too!

The problem with internet reviews is that some people are just born malcontents and you can't please them no matter what you do. Now, sometimes a bad review is well deserved too. You have to research the outfit. The best information is from people that you know, in this case, forum members.
That said, this white 430 looks beautiful and is obviously a very rare find. I have NEVER seen one in person. I like the entire set-up. Go for it.

Good find on that red one! I would be all over that if I were a shopper, that car is priced to move. I really only study coupes and manual cars but white is a super desirable color. I should not have put out a guess on that white one if red one-owner cars are under 130. I really place a premium on that and proper documentation/service. Good luck!

Thanks guys. I spoke with Gil and he is asking ~$150k for it. Doesn't have service records but has an idea about where the car was serviced. Not looking to pay that kind of premium, so I'm going to remain in the sidelines for now.

Good luck in your search. I did not get the 100% service history on my car either but did get all of the last servicing records and found out a lot of positive things that led to my purchasing the car i.e. new tires, new TPMS, all fluids and filters, and most important new exhaust manifolds. My car was also a two owner prior to me and has spent its entire life in Florida after being shipped down new from NY.
