As a retired geezer, I stay out of my wife's hair by doing vehicle inspections in S FL for various auto lenders. Bumped into this this morning at a dealer in Ft Lauderdale. Nobel family museum? Race belts. Might have been Sparco. No connection, just curious. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yeah If I brought that car home I would likely be peeling those off post haste. I think I would leave that stuff on the back on, though. At least for a little while. I dunno
No carb air cleaner(s) at all, and the crankcase breather puking on the top of the engine? Yuck... No front bumper does give the coachwork (and 308GTB/S coachwork) a good look...
Steve, I agree. As for the puking, recently I boroscoped all of the cylinders with the carbs off. The intake valves on the two cylinders closest to the distributors (one on each bank) had crystalized oil on them while the other six were clean. That breather exit is in a poor location in the stock airbox IMO. Better arrangement is needed to minimize the uneven distribution.
Spoke to the Museum’s mechanic when it was for sale in LA, back in June. It was likely a California up till then. The mechanic stated no rust or accident damage. The engine is dry sump, otherwise stock. Front brakes are upgraded. Suspension otherwise stock - from memory. Seller was asking about $42k. Don’t recall anything about the exhaust.
No expert, but Boxer paint looks too glossy to me. Isn't it supposed to be more matte? Also, if it's a true non-foglight car, it's pretty rare. Those were almost always Euro cars. I see the Euro-style front peanut lights, but they look like they are in the wrong location, too far forward.
I agree, the boxer paint seems to be gloss instead of factory matte. I thought all NA/USA cars were non-fog light? Agree the little indicator lights aren't in the right spot, I suspect they are being used to fill up a hole that used to hold the bumper side bits to the body. I am not a fan of the look of front bumper-less 308s. I agree the very front of the GT4 is a little awkward, but to my eye this isn't an improvement.
Depend on what you are looking for. Are you looking for a correct car or something you want to hot rod. If you want to bring it back to stock it’s going to take money. If you want something to play around with this one seems fine.
