Sorry to post an "anybody know" thread, but what the heck. Looks like a lot of preemptive work done on the 30k. Missing records pre-2003. Appears in good shape and reasonably priced. I'm not a rich man, but this one peaked my interest. That's a steal for that car! especially in California with a major by a Ferrari dealer. Jump on it before someone else does.
Haven't seen it, but with a $10,250 major service it probably runs well. I like that it has new fuel lines, and I can tell you I don't see many of the 308/328/348 generation getting serviced at FM San Diego - so that speaks well of it. If it's nearby and you want someone to eyeball it, drop me a PM.
If you really want to see what this car is made of it may be worth your while to spend a few bucks and have an expert check it out for you. Thats what I did on a number of cars and I am not sorry that I did. They found a number of issues on various cars I was interested in. I finally found what I wanted and its been sweet ever since. Give Chris Dugan a call. He is with Cavallo Motorsports located in Carlsbad. His number is 760.603.8321. His opinion will cover your *ss. Just a suggestion. Jeff
The car looks clean - although you didn't ask for comments . the wheels are on the wrong side - an FNA dealer should know this (our local FNA dealer has screwed this up before with 348's too). . the carbon fibre interior is a personal thing - doesn't add any value to many buyers. . the stereo crap in the trunk is the same - is there a subwoofer and larger speakers hiding in that interior somewhere? Cutting up the interior for speakers is a negative imo. . The chrome shifter ball is also a personal thing - I believe the factory ones were black . looks like the drivers side wiper blade has been lowered - it was on mine too and is a good thing. . looks like new P-Zero's, also a good thing. . miles look real - I like that it's been driven and apparently taken care of. . looks like there's a velcro snap missing on the back of the tonneau cover - should be three of them attached to the cover (I keep losing mine). If the personal stuff is ok for you - it's worth investigating. Warning: I don't believe you need to be reach to buy a 348, but can you handle a few $5k repair bills from a dealer? be ready if you sign the purchase agreement - even the best Fcar needs to be fixed every now and then.
The nice thing is that there are some very good shops here in San Diego to have a PPI done. Symbolic and Bobilief do very good work, and will steer you right. Darrell.
The pictures seem to show a well cared for car and I like the interior upgrades. I checked the prices on upgrading my interior and it is not cheap to put in the carbon fiber replacements. Getting rid of the sticky plastic is a worthwhile effort. The car is very reasonably priced, but there is no substitute for checking it out in person, or having a qualified mechanic do a PPI. Good luck. The 348 Spider is a great car.
On the surface it looks like a good car at a reasonable price. If I was in the market to trade up from my TS, I'd be checking this one out. Here's another 94 red/tan spyder on ebay for $52K. Wisconsin car. Not much useful info in the listing. Pictures aren't great either, but something to compare to... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ferrari-1995-348-Ferrari-Spider_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6212QQihZ011QQitemZ320068915944QQrdZ1
