That is what I would have thought....I just got confused when you questioned why the guy got bored with the new FGT then said you were looking at one.
I liked it a lot…….my only dislike is that I’m a Ferrari guy at heart and it’s a tough decision. My Scud is a special car to me……not that the ford gt wouldn’t be but never really had anything but Porsches and Ferraris I’m a little first rodeo kinda thing. The sales guy didn’t even know how to open the rear lid….. Well, I hope you're not basing any of your decision on the salesman's pitch... Branch out a bit. I doubt you’ll be disappointed. I never understood the allegiance to specific brands. I refuse to own more than one car from the same manufacturer at once. Too many options out there. Only exceptions I’d make are for a CGT and F40. The FGT will provide a sufficiently different experience than your Scud, but not in a Mustang way . Definitely not your typical Ford product (and I’ve owned a few). Details on this one? Miles? Gauges intact? Half shaft bolts recall done? (never assume). Looks like your airbag emblem is oxidizing like most eventually do. Mine was fine until about a year ago and started showing some spots. Elite Auto in Jonesboro used to offer refinishing but not sure if they still do
Gauges are good Miles 4500 Recall done (saw work order) Yes emblem is oxidizing……what’s the fix for that? I’ll reach out to elite auto in the meantime.
They refinish it. I believe you have to disconnect the airbag and send it to them (although I’m not sure that’s correct since sending potential explosives via UPS/Fedex/USPS is probably frowned upon)
Anyone know anyone or yourself that did the manual swap in the scuderia? Did you regret it or think it was way better? Any insight on this is much appreciated. I’ve had my scud for 8 years now and I think it’s time to gate or get it outta here. Got a brand new gt3rs and it’s pdk (although I’ll proly swap it out for a manual 992.2 gt3) and I got way too many’s automatics now
Did you drive it? Shame he didn't open the engine clamshell, that is one of the coolest aspects of the exterior design..... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh I opened it up and checked everything out. I didn’t drive it it was pouring with rain. I’m going to go back and do so when I have time
Nah, it's a nice Pro-Form treadmill......3 hp upgraded motor, sweet unit. Thanks for asking. Shame you couldn't drive it yesterday, but understand with the weather and all. As good as it looks and all, the special part is the way it drives.
Wow, tough choice as all 3 are so different.....which is why they would make for a great 3 car garage if I'm lucky enough to get another shot at a Scuderia (should be in position to buy something this year, currently wrestling with garage issues). The Diablo is the ultimate long distance cruiser and would be the first keys I pick up on a sunny day. Not that it isn't fast, since it was the first production open top car to exceed 200 mph (208 mph to be exact), and it can even be raced (there was a Diablo racing team in the 90s) but the joy is in a somewhat leisurely cruise with 30,000 miles of headroom and the sound of the V-12 inches behind you. The FGT in its modified form is a street fighter, loud, sometimes obnoxious, always wants to driven hard. In its stock form, it is calmer and more composed which probably is a better fit for most owners. One day I wanted to record the sound of both cars. The Diablo was a roaring masterpiece. The FGT exhaust was powerful enough to knock over the tripod breaking the camera. What I don't have is a high revving car, that is graceful and light on its feet. All the times I drove it, the Scuderia fit that to a T, much easier to place it where you wanted it to be. It is a very entertaining car, I look forward to giving it another go.
That all makes sense……I’m really struggling giving up my Scud for the FGT. I also have a garage space issue…..and storage is about 700/800 a month here in S Florida….ugh
I get it, if you have to give up a great car to acquire another. If your Scuderia still gives you a thrill, you should just hang on to it. Storage space in Houston runs around $500 a month but it is a half hour away and I would miss not seeing my cars for weeks or months on end. So I looked into a lift but my ceiling is only 9' 3" tall. My only other option to have all 3 is wedging a 3rd car in, but according to my calculations I can only have a door swing of 24" or less to get in and out of car #3....and I don't know how practical that is. For example, the door swing on a FGT is 42". I'll need to go out and measure up some cars this Spring.
You have room for a 4 post lift for a FGT and Diablo with a 9'3" garage. Sounds like it's time to add the SCUD.
