I had a Scud 16M and put 8K miles on it in just over two years, when you’re getting on it and banging through the gears, it feels like a full on race car everything about it was fun, but I got tired of the F1 gearbox and replaced the car with an Aston Martin DBS 6speed manual. After two years and 12K miles the car seemed big and heavy, I then went to a Porsche Turbo S and after a year got tired of the automatic PDK so now I’m driving a 2019 ZR1 ZTK Manual 7speed, I love it. I have driven a FGT a bunch and have to say at this point I would take it over the Scud because of the torque and manual transmission,

I sold the Scud so far.
Trying to decide on what’s next…..as much as I like the creature comforts of newer cars something always draws me back to the classics.

Creature comforts are for daily beaters. If you're looking for a weekend car, nothing beats the classics

Don't think anyone will disagree with you on that. Similar styling to the Iso Grifo which is absolutely gorgeous. Although vintage Maserati is a world of pain I probably wouldn't wish on anyone lol.

Yep, the classics are hard mistresses to give up on.

I also understand the pull of new cars, as I'm having thoughts about selling the FGT to get into something like an F8.

We have/had a couple of the same cars, I’ve had my 550 for 20 years and my Scud for a couple years. I find it difficult to get the same special feeling in the new cars that I have with older cars. My other 2 cars that are newer but still feel exciting in an authentic way are my McLaren 675 spider and AMG GTR. If you haven’t driven a 675 you should because it is a truly special car.

Don't do it. The FGT is too unique in my opinion to sell for an F8. FGT will hold its value in the long run while the freshness of an F8 will fade over time.

I agree with you in principle, but I'm set to retire soon on a lifetime middle class salary and just don't have the assets to keep the 2 I have and love and add a newer car which I've never owned.

Life is short... Do what makes you happy. When it's time to go, I doubt there's many folks who think "I sure wish I didn't buy that Ferrari and put the money into the S&P 500!" The F8 is incredible and you've already been there done that with the FGT.

I'm sure there are plenty of people that regret luxury (wasteful?) purchases instead of having a more meaningful legacy to pass along.

I would have been stoked if my dad left me a Ferrari :D

Happy with the leftover memories though :)
