I am not talking rollbar, as too radical. The lap belt is not a problem, that is clear, except for installing loops at this location.

For the rear, I was considering a bar from bolt to bolt, at the shoulder belt original installation points.
This, not for racing, just for staying more immobile in the seat, particularly for passengers, in the occasional foray to the back roads/track day?

The seats are fine, the three point arrangement is not. I think the stress on the mounting bolts would not be more than the factory set up.

It would have to be raised and shaped accordingly, slightly off the shelf for clearance reasons, as a tube with flattened ends, nicely leathered/vinyl-ed up to match the interior, and of suitable diameter/wall chromoly. A plastic/xyz washer between the body and the bar's ends would protect the paint.

The original belts would go back into the inventory, so no permanent damage and/or sale.
Like this, one can just install/remove the bar at a fairly decent clip.

Now, is a good moment for me to dry fit one on, as still at the prepaint stage, not worrying about scratching anything and working in an empty cockpit.

Question is, what is suitable, is it completely crazy, and if you have ideas/thoughts, please don't be shy...

    Thank you.
    Regards, Alberto

    Alberto,

this I think is an example of what you are talking about (seen on a Dino at Tour Auto). I agree it is probably the best (only) way to have a 4 point belt installed that one day coud be easy reversed to original.
But on 206 and L series headrest space should be take into consideraration.

    SDT, that is exactly it!
For the 206 or the L, you would have to use separate shoulder belts, each one individually mounted on the tube.
Thank you for the great photos!
Are you located in Torino? Can you pm your contact details?
There is only one other Dino Owner from Italy on fchat as far as I know.

    Alberto,
I have 4 point seat belts since almost 18 years in my M-Series 246.
For me the original belts were not safe enough and did not move properly after
40 years now. I used the original fixation points too. The upper one is not in
in the middle behind the headrest but I use it without modifiecations and
guide the belt between the headrest brakets. The 4 point belt is an normally
automatic belt from SCHROTH. Instead of connecting to the automatic roll I
attached the male end to the upper fixation point. See picture:

    Alberto,
Happy that you liked the pictures.
Yes I am from Turin. Sorry I realize that I should have to better introduce me to everybody, I apologize, but I am just poor in time and also skills with this amazing media but learning, I will try to correct that asap with profiles, pictures of cars etc.. Meanwhile I am happy to keep on corresponding with traditional mails (will send you a PM).

I am not sure that the fixing showed by Dino Club Germany will work with headrest in place of the L series, but definitely a simple solution if effective.

I add a picture of a 206 with bar and 4 (3) points (unfortunately pictures not of best quality), hearests look off, that is a pity. Originality on my opinion should be kept as much as possible.

    Emanuele

Nicolai thank you for the link.
Unfortunately, mine is an L, so it won't work.
I will make a tube, that sounds like the easiest solution.
