    Have been doing some reading on this. Never been interested in a Benz before, but looking at semi daily drivers and this one has decent power (563), nice looking, seems to be built in reasonably low numbers, and crazy doors like my Diablo.

    Any experience with these?

    Yes! And I have to say it's one of the best cars ever. Retro, beautiful styling, Mercedes comfort, Ferrari performance and reliability. Only drawback is that the seats don't recline for long road trips. I have nothing but great things to say about this car.

    I like that we live in a world where 563 hp is only considered to be decent...

    I have been using an SLS as a semi-daily driver for about 2 1/2 years. The car is great in all areas. As with any AMG service costs are higher than normal but not extreme.
