Anybody here own an unknown or super rare exotic? Gillet, Invicta, Lister or Rhapsodie for instance... Something really unheard of... I think somebody on here has a RoadRazer...

    Come on, post some pics!

    Best,
    Jon

Far from being a sportscar, but does a Mahindra count?

Exactly, and I guess no one here lives in India :D My Dad drives one for fun, never seen another one on the road. Same thing with my '76 Celica, but calling a Toyota an exotic is a bit of a stretch. Although there are more Enzos in Germany than Celicas like mine...

In those pics that silver thing looks like a Mazda Miata with a weird body kit, even the headlights look like the Miata headlights?

    No, although everyone thinks so.
Compared to a 1st gen Miata the Ginetta is about 10" lower in height, 2.5 feet less in length, and about 1100 pound lighter.
The headlights are Ford something or other from Europe, and the structure is a tube frame independant suspension with a LSD from a Ford Contour I beleive with a fiberglass body.
Ginetta manufactures the frame, body, and suspension parts, except for the shocks. They use the Miata engine here because it is more accessible than the Zetec model used in the UK. It is a rolling chassis when it arrives here and the importer installs the engine, trans, and fuel tank (to avoid the emissions, crash testing etc...).
A funny thing is that since this particular car uses a Miata fuel tank the sending unit is in a different (and reversed) scale from the sending unit the Smiths gauges are set up for. So when the gauge reads 1/8 that means almost full, and when it reads 5/8 it means almost empty. I learned that one the hard way!
The next time I drive it I'll have to find a Miata to photograph next to so the differences are more apparent.
One thing that is consistent is that I only receive positive comments from strangers. Nobody thinks I am a snob driving the car. Its dimunitive size and happy looks make everyone like the car.
    :)

Not much street-stuff was made by the company, most of its attention went to the track. Only four road-legal Storms were produced and only three are still on the road. Prett pricy too. The company made ninety or so tunned Jags in the late eighties if my memory serves me...

Its an older company, little older than 50 yrs. Pretty nice little racing history and some notable designers like Coston. I think the Storm was raced all the way up to last year, for FFSA events. Its a decent little company with more grunt and history than most people know.

Hell yeah. Infact part of starting this thread was to get some pics of the W8. Eh, can't have everything. :)

    Best,
    Jon

Wow by no means as exotic as Tony's stunning Vector but my Alfa SZ is fairly rare beast. Especially in the US. There may be 1 or 2 there on show and display.

Until the 8C comes along this was the last rear wheel drive Alfa. Rear transaxle, inboard discs, composite body work. Light with a very stiff chassis. 3litre V6 210HP Lateral G was measured by some magazines at 1.3. For comparison the Ferrari 348 or 328 of roughly the same period only manage about 1.03 and 0.98 respectively. Not blisteringly quick but EXTREMELY entertaining on twisty mountain roads :D

Zagatos styling divides opinion. I love it. Others hate it. It's one or the other no middle ground.
I have yet to meet anyone without a strong opinion either way on the design.

Not the best pictures, the car normally sits very low to the ground.
The pics show the car with the hydraulic suspension pumped up to its full height.

I love the SZ. Almost got one. However I realised it's perhaps not a very good daily driver so will buy one much later in the future, would love to see one up close. Where in Switzerland do you live?

Hi Nik I'm in SG. The car is very reliable. In summer It's my daily driver to work. I've not tried it in winter in the snow, the tyres are semi slicks ;)

The biggest problem is finding trim and other parts if you smash it.
    Most are no longer available.
