The Concept is, you text 542 542 any kind of question. (They really do say any kind of question) Within 5 minutes you get an answer in a text back. A friend of mine told me to try it at lunch today. I thought it was kind of stupid, since almost any question can be answered using google, but I tried it anyway. I asked:

"Which car would stand a better chance of winning a race at Silverstone, a Ferrari F40 or a Ferrari 355 Challenge?"

Answer I got in under 2 minutes:
"The F40 would win because it has a top speed of 211! The 355 top speed is only 183."

Post some of your questions/replies, but be warned each text costs $.99

    Give it a try. :)

I agree, I think they missed the fact that it was a 355 Challenge...

I always wondered how those services work (we have them here, too). A bunch of worker bees in a a call center, typing the question into Google and Wikipedia and sending back the first acceptable answer?

I have a feeling that wont work... and I'll still get charged for it. :)

Actually, you can become a KGB "agent" here: http://542542.com/agent

You have to take a test and get the answers 100% right. The "agents" can work right out of their homes.

One of their call centers is in my jurisdiction. People constantly coming and going 24 hours a day. Stopped them one day and had a puzzled look on my face when they told me their employer was the KGB, I smirked and waited for the real answer. Then they explained it was a call center. This was before all the commercials. They took over the building previously occupied by InfoNXX

Is it called a call center? I think it should be called a text center. :D

    Hmmm....2nd (small) income? :D

They had a Smart Car driving around Houston, although I haven't seen it in a while.

A few months back it was in my gyms parking lot. I guess they were doing marketing because they moved the damn thing at least 3 or 4 times within an hour.

I took the test and got to the "final really hard question" and then was told I qualified to be a KGB agent.

It said you get $0.10 per question that requires you to do "research" or actually verify or type something, and $0.05 if you just pick the correct answer from a multiple choice list.

    Hmmm.

So if you are on a high speed internet connection, if it takes you 20 seconds to answer a question on average, and you have a 50/50 mix between 0.10 and 0.05 questions, that means you make $0.225 per minute, or $13.50/hr. And to make that, you are literally moving flat out for the full amount of that hour, answering 180 questions. Oh, and you have to be a smart person with an above average intelligence and need to be tethered to your computer.

    For $13.50/hr?

    They must be kidding.

And I'll bet it works out to usually less than $10/hr.

haha....I knew it couldn't have been much. But if you are out of work right now it's better than nothing.

I thought the funniest part of the commercial is that the girl is the "Frog Lady" Robert dates on 'Everybody Loves Raymond'.

I use CHA CHA. It only costs what a usual text would for your plan (in my case unlimited). They're pretty accurate, but not always right.

    I used this question:

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=138897601&postcount=3319

    Cha Cha's answer:
"If famous or infamous, like mobster and government witness, Frank Cullotta. He is approached by people who recognize him."

    That didn't make any sense:

    KGB's answer:
"It's not legal. They cannot locate you for interviews if you are in the Witness Protection Program. The witnesses that are interviewed are not in the WPP or haven't been placed in it yet."

    I did. :D:D

    Answer:
"Of course you can! Working as a KGB Agent allows complete flexibility over your shifts and you're always learning new things. The extra spending cash is great too!"

Just asked them "Which is a better source of info, www.ferrarichat.com or www.ferrari life.com" now we'll really find out how smart they are :D:D:D

EDIT: They said its a tie, and they are both great, obviously they are stupid. :D:D:D
