Double K is holding the first seasonal cruise night from 6:30-9pm at the Steak & Shake in West Chicago. They would probably add an Italian Imports category if enough of us can make it there. I'm trying to see whether enough are interested here to make this an event or not. So who's interested? I'm in btw. For details: http://doublekproductions.com/cruisenights.htm
I might be out on business, but will hope to attend. Please keep the post updated to remind us a few days prior. Rocketboy
It's a posibility, but the only show i watch on TV is on those nights "24". so, we'll see... Another place that is more fun are the cruise nights on Wednesday evenings at Rookies. Thats were Bob and I have gone a few times. At least there you can get a beer... I know for some of you it's a little farther to drive, but it's only maybe about another 20 minutes west on North Av. from the Steak and Shake in West Chicago....
Being this is a cruise night and not a show, I doubt if there are any classes. Kerry has just awarded as he sees fit at cruise nights
Yes it is a Tuesday night. Bob, good point. I asked Kerry whether he would do some judging for us anyway. Let's see what he comes back with. So here is the potential list of participants so far: Rocketboy Andreas F355Berlinetta (sorry buddy, I forgot your name) Tod Richard Bob, can we count you in as well?
Well......um......er.....I guess me too; though I don't know why. Why do we want to hang out at what are basically, 'Hot-Rod' events?? Skip
Good question. And the answer is a bit embarrassing for me: I thought that the point of the cruise night event is a concours at night. You park your car outside and while you have dinner your car gets judged. Well, turns out that isn't how it works. I asked Kerry to make an exception for us and make it a concours, but the answer is still no. (Basically I misunderstood when Bob and Tod won some trophies last year at a cruise night.) So in the light of that I question now myself whether this makes any sense or whether we should find a better place or event. Your comments are always welcome.
Hmm, so how about if we move the event to the 26th and meet at Rookies in St. Charles instead? Who is still in (I am)?
After reviewing my contacts, I can not make it on the 25th but the 26th definitely. Besides, a decent place where we can all meet and interact comfortably is a lot better than a Steak and Shake parking lot where some pimply faced teens will ask us if we can beat a NOS loaded Stang or Supra. RocketBoy
What time would you want to meet Andreas? I probably wouldn't make it out there until about 7-7:30 PM. Dave
Let's say drinks at 7pm and dinner at 7:30pm, that gives us half an hour to assemble. So far we got: Rocketboy Dave Andreas F355Berlinetta Skip? Bob? Frank? Tod? Any of you guys in?
What about the car show at Lake Forest on the 23rd???? Anyone going there on that Sunday ???? I think that date is correct??? I can posibly make it on the 26th at Rookies, will know more closer to that date, suppose to be leaving very early the 27th for california that weekend....
Yes, May 23rd is the official big opening of LFSC (of course they're already open). If you like to go, it would be polite to give either LFSC or Mike Epifanio (847-823 2149) a call so they get an idea of the expected head/car count. And yes, I'm going. Last time around (fall 2002) was quite lovely too. This time should be even better with their new facilities.
