http://www.ccpauctions.com/lot-details.php?RefNum=r038&EventID=80 anyone out there take advantage of this ? i know the car and if i didn't have so much on my plate right now, i would have been all over it at that price...very, very well bought ! modified cosmetically in the interior and definitely in need of some tuning, but it didn't seem to be a 'project'... having said that, i didn't drive it or perform compression/leakdown tests...but listening to it run didn't scare me off it and it showed well. FYI, i've got most of the interior bits to make it original inside again...shame about the side markers though.
Brett Not me, but you're right about those revolting side-markers! We need to talk again - I'll call you today. Cheers Aidan
Something did not smell Right at that auction. I was there in attendance. The buyer didn't even ever go look at the car and was bidding on everything the seller was selling !!!
Hello, Noticed in one of the photos that the tachometer shows a 7000 RPM redline. Can anyone explain why later models have a lower RPM redline? I thought these engines were fairly similar mechanically. Just curious. Thanks, Michael Payne
Michael. I'm sure the cam profile for a CIS car compared to Weber spec'd car is milder with less overlap. The CIS model probably has better low and mid range but the Weber'd car a far better top end machine with 15hp extra. You can't have a large cam overlap with CIS injection otherwise the flapper at idle bounces constantly making tuning difficult. Regards, Robert
The 365s have a 71mm stroke while the 400s have a 78 mm stroke. I think the shorter stroke could be the reason for a higher redline.
