Indy altered the infield road course quite a lot and added the right left right chicane complex coming onto the front straight.

So, records would only be comparable to 2014.

The F1 track was reconfigured, so there are different track records for each configuration. F1 speeds benefited from coming out of the road course complex at the Oval T2 and being able to wind it up all the way to RC T1. Much better potential for top speed. IIRC, At the time, it was the fastest speeds for F1 on any of the courses they were running.

The new course has several interesting complexes that drivers really enjoy. From the exit of T4 through to T9, they are pretty much flat out. T7 is great for passing, as are T1/2 and T12 if set up correctly. The T12-T14 complex helps to reduce speeds before coming onto the front stretch.

Lengths and number of turns of each track:

Formula One - 2.605 miles with 13 turns
Indycar -2.439 miles with 14 turns

    Track records for both layouts:

Formula One - 1:10.399; 133.546 mph by Rubens Barrichello (2004 Ferrari)
Indycar - 1:09.4886; 126.357 mph by Will Power (2015 Chevy)

So yes, different track = different record.
