Thinking about it more, wouldn’t the fresh fluid have to be flowing through the brake lines, then turn the key on? Sent from my iPad using FerrariChat.com mobile app
You may find that you need to use the diag bleed if the abs module has been removed. The trapped air can be stubborn.
anybody find any answers on this? i rebuilt all my brake calipers and have trapped air that's really hard to get out. I've bled everything 2 times (without a tool to activate the ABS) and the brake pedal still goes to the floor. i also have an x431 launch and it has options for abs bleed on a 355 and 430 but no 360 (wtf). anybody know of another tool or method to get this air out of the system?
Are you doing the back bleeder too? I have a gravel driveway so I just locked up the wheels a few times and rebled it.
Ya i have been bleeding both nipples on each caliper separately one at a time, could this be an issue or no? I would totally try the gravel method but i’m honestly scared to back it out of the driveway like this lol
Having air in the abs unit will cause some sponginess, but won't be to the point that there is next to no pressure. Either you still have air in other places or something isn't working properly.
Just as a data point, a few years ago I removed all four calipers, left fluid in the (capped lines), rebuilt them all and refinshed them, reinstalled, and bled with a motive (filled up method). I had zero issues with air or spongey pedal etc... So something else may be going on (and no, I didn't use a scanner to open any valves). Just thought I would share this in case you thought that the job was impossible without a diag tool. In my case it was not.
